Unhappy VDC off, SLIP, ABS lights comes ON!!! Help please

Hi guys i know that some people had this problem on their Z.

I got the VDC off, SLIP, ABS light Stays ON all the time. Then the Emergency Brake Sometimes turned on.

Also i have installed a LCD screen(Nesa, which uses the same LCD as Farenheit 7001) with VDO Dayton Sat Nav.

Brought it to the dealer to ask them to fix it and they said the problem caused by my LCD!!!! They believe my LCD has Fried the ABS Control Pumps Unit. Therefore my car is VOID warranty and have to pay AU$5000 to replace the damn thing.

Also i talk to the Installer he said he never even touch the engine bay and he think the Dealer is playing me around. All the system is installed from Inside.

Can anyone please tell me what is the problem on their Z that has the Similar Problem? Or My Nissan dealer is trying to avoid my warranty to replace the ABS Control Pump Module?

P.S: The light Stayed ON since i got the car, because of my mistake for thinking just the faulty light on the Dash Board. So i didn't call them and Inform of the Problem on the first Week i got the Z because of my Excitement

Besides a valuable lesson being learn't. Always inform service of problems BEFORE adding anything.

Anyway, when you picked up the car did you at least tell the sales rep at the dealer before driving out? If so get service to talk to him/her to confirm your story.

Get them to explain in writing how the LCD fried the ABS Control Pump (Providing that the installer has not tapped into this unit for any feeds I cannot see how this is possible)

Good luck. Got a paddle !!

PS: THE DEALER WILL DO AND SAY ANYTHING SO THAT IT WILL COST YOU. ALSO THE SERVICE MANAGER IN SYDNEY/CROWS NEST IS A "insert abusive word".

He wanted me to tell the insurance company that Nissan will not warranty any electrics if I had a alarm fitted. Now since I could not insure the car without a alarm what do I do? His answer. Convince insurance CO to be liable for all wiring WTF !!!

Now you say they believe it was the LCD. That does not mean they know they only think they know.

Another way to attack the situation is to pay the 5g's but before it is fitted have a letter that they sign stating after it is fitted if the ABS unit blows you will incure the cost otherwise if it doesn't they incur the repair. Since the LCD caused the problem it should happen again after it is fitted. (only try this if you have sh#tloads of cash) If it does blow again then it is the installers problem.

Suggest you get an NRMA (or in your state I think it's

RACQ or similar) report. This is an admissible document

both in Consumer Affairs or a Court of Law.

Nissan may be right - it's not for laymen (dealer, you, others)

to say - you need expert opinion so you can slam Nisshit.

Nissan has an unenviable reputation with warranty claims - you

need plenty of ammo when you go to them. Good luck,

Frosty.

This probably wont help you but....

Exactly the same lights come on after I had my car dyno'd. I near ***** myself thinking something had farked up.

Luckily I just turned the car off and it reset itself or something as the lights stayed off.

Perhaps it could be something as simple as fuse or something along those lines.

It seems strange to me that exactly the same lights came on for me??

As always

Further to last post, you could well have a claim against

the installer - once again, you need expert opinion.

Some aute electricians can give opinion, but if they

suspect that litigation is involved, their price will be exaggerated,

or they will alternatively decline to get involved.

Some will specialise in this sort of "expert opinioning",

but finding someone will be difficult.

Your motoring organisation/Consumer Affairs is your best

bet.

Have you spoken to customer relations (lowercase intentional)

at nisshit? Stuff the dealership - go direct!!!

Oh one thing i hope i can proof the LCD is NOT the problem. Is that i booked for the 1000km service and inform the light is stayed 'ON' on Friday 25 sep and I have a receipt of my LCD installed on 29 Sep. The Service was due at 1 October. Therefore i can prove that the Light is already ON Before I installed the LCD. I'm ready to ask my Installer to talk to them that he didn't even Touch the Engine bay. Because My Sat Nav was powered through the Ignition Starter for Positive and Negative is on the Car body.

Nissan Dealer told me they have called the Nissan Technician and said this is a Very Rare Case or i'm the only one in Australia who own Z have this problem.
Therefore they Diagnose the car and said that the Brown Wire has been twisted (not Soldered) so it will inflict a short circuit or what ever.

This even sound ridiculous, because the ABS Control UNIT is on the Bonnet on inside the car. I think they don't want me to claim this problem for free.

Is this a Brown wire with a White strip ?

The reason I ask is that the VCC wire (speed pulse) is brown with white strip. This is not located in the engine bay though. It is located behind the aircon controls.

I don't know the Nissan Doesn't tell me very detail. They just told me a brown wire. But is that the only brown wire inside the Dash Board? Is the VVC wire have something to do with the ABS Control Unit?
