Default Sometimes you just have to have a go....

I was on my way to an early morning golf game (and no golf is not just for old farts) and I ended up alongside a tricked up new SS Holden. I don't normally race but sometimes you just have to have a go....and there were no other cars around due to early hour.
The road merged into one lane ahead so there was going to be no question who won. I was just behind because the road was at an angle - good start - not much wheelspin, fair bit on change to second but I was ahead all the way with the other car just up the rear bumper until 3rd - then I left him for dead.

I don't think I would have done it without the HiTech - a similar car beat me before I had the exhaust.

Of course we kept below the speed limit at all times! (right).

So it's also for old guys in denial?

Or did you just want to test out the sticker showing how to fit the clubs in?

Glad you stayed below legal limit but your rpm would've been rather low in third. You would've been better off staying in 1st or even second and using more revs

Got to admit those V8s are quick in a straight line. Guy I know just had a new map flashed on his ECU. Went from ~180rwkw to ~220rwkw

Similar thing happened to me a couple days ago, but it was a V8 Falcon. Also we rolled off the line and punched it at around 15 - 20kph. I got about 1/2 car on him in 1st and then another 2 - 2.5 car-lengths on him by the the end of 2nd (well, not 'end' ... as I let off once I mereged into his lane at around 90kph).

ps. It was not an XR8.

Mine had a sticker on the inside of the hatch showing how to get two sets of clubs in. I took it off the day I got it so can't tell you what the solution to the puzzle is.

Chris, you're more than welcome.

I glad to hear you are setting a good example for all the younger ones around here!

So that is how it is done.....You have to take out the drivers as they are about 2cms too long. Actually without the spare there is a ton of room. Ta Harry. Am I the only golfer out there? Are there any others of quality?

Chris, up until about 2 years ago I was a golfer, now it just gives me the ******! I simply don't have the spare 5 or so hours a week to play regularly, now I just find it frustrating and prefer to do other things.

It might be a bit different when my boy gets a bit older.

My handicap at the time was 18.

Well I've just started so I'm at 27 - should come down soon or I will go back to tennis. Oh wait I can't - I spent 4.5K on clubs. There's no going back!!!!
Frosty your number will come up - you just need to take seat and do what the men in white coats tell ya!!!!

You're not alone CAR2 - been playing golf for the last decade and I used to have my clubs insured too (they were worth about $4K when new approx 6-7 yrs ago), so I can understand your passion for the game.
I was a 12 handicapper, but currently 17 due to lack of regular participation.
BTW, WA has some of the nicest courses - I'd love to play at Joondulup, The Vines etc.

My set of clubs fit very well in the boot, and I possibly hv the longest driver at ~48", so I dont see you couldnt fit everything in.
btw, my handicap is 20

I'm a really good golfer, I win the warm-up every time. In the nets I really give Tiger a thumping. Then I get to the first tee and reality comes crashing down, riding me to the ground a whoopin' and a hollerin' like Slim Pickens in Dr. Strangelove.

You've got to love a game that can have you cursing and bright red with frustration, ready to heave the clubs into the drink and then you hit that sweet 150 yard shot that lands 10 cm from the pin on the last hole and you can't wait for next week. As you walk away, fooling yourself that you had a good game after all, Uncle Chuck is greasing up the glass encrusted Clue-Bat of Reality (tm), ready for next time (oops, dropped into CofD mode there).

I get two full sets in...10" pro bag

Only if you have an oversize driver (golf that is) it might be a prob....

I have to take my driver and 3 wood out of the bag and put them in the second compartment (nearest driver / passanger).
PITA.
