Triangle Z Club/THSCC HPDE 2006 schedule
OK everyone, here is our 'ready to be set in stone' 2006 HPDE/Time Trial schedule:
We are very excited to be doing North Course this year, it will be our first time hosting an event on that circuit, and we are planning something big, even for those 'show types'
The time trial series will see a revamping for 2006, we will be using an AMB timing and scoring system instead of the outdated trip-light/stopwatch system we've been using. All the details can be found at www.timetrials.net
Entries are already coming in for February... so sign up early. If you have any questions, please email or PM me ASAP! If you are driving a Z, go ahead and sign up as a 'member' to get $20 off the entry fee.
- February 11-12 ... Virginia International Raceway, Original Full Course Registration Now Open: $285/$305 MotorsportReg.com
- April 8-9 ... Virginia International Raceway, North Course
- June 17-18 ... Roebling Road Raceway
- November 4-5 ... The Rock, North Carolina Speedway roval

You should try to make it down for April... and don't say its too far; Dave Thomson from Ontario has made it down every year for the last three years! And that was when we were on the 1.6 mile South Course!! LOL He's not gonna know what to do with another mile of track on the North Course this year.

I'm considering going because I need the track time and I doubt any club around here is going to risk early/mid April. My race schedule just came out and I'm going to be driving all the he*l over tarnation, so I may not. I'll just have to wait and see how next year unfolds. It took me 14 hours to get home last time.

I plan on being there for the February event. Probably even for the April event... can't ever get enough of that place - oh yeah, that and TZC puts on a good show.

We've got a few candidates that we are going to invite to run our mini-clinic, but we don't have any sort of 'open' instructor clinic as of yet.
On a different note, let me say that while I have some philosophical differences with the way their events are organized... I've got to admit I am impressed with the sheer scope of NASA in general. They must be doing something right to have gotten as big as they have in a relatively short period of time. I suppose I owe it to myself and to them to give one of their events a shot (if I ever have any expendable income that isn't immediately dumped into my car for maintenence or repairs.)
NASA runs a good instructor program, which in turn builds a good drivers education program. The only bad thing I'll say about NASA is that there is too much going on in a weekend with all the race groups, so track time can be slim.
Adam, NASA-MA usually runs their instructor clinic at VIR-Full the third weekend of February and during the VIR-North event the last weekend in July.

NASA-ON/IN doesn't really have much of an instructor program as far as I know. That being said, I could put you in touch with Lawrence Mansier out there...
As for NASA-MA, you'll want to contact Chris Cobetto - I'd be happy to endorse you. Let me know if you're interested.
If you want to make the journey down to VIR, you could do it two weekends in a row. Yes, Triangle Z Feb 11-12, and NASA Feb 18-19.
Just tow the Diasio down, fly back on Sunday night to Chicago, and then fly back on Friday. If you can't find a flight out of Danville, you're welcome to ride with me back to DC to catch a flight from there. Yes, I am planning on doing both weekends.

Thanks!
So who has registered thus far for the Feb event?
I sure have a crapload of stuff to replace on my car: CV boot, front rotors, front pads, tires, and possibly a tranny.
As far as I know, Stacy has me on the confirmed list...
