Scary brake fade/failure
it's obvious that if you had started with Red Calipers and not orange you would have had no issues..
And the original color was "UberVictor Gold," not "orange," thank you very much.
On a serious note, I originally hated the gold calipers. Now that this has happened, I must say that I prefer gold to metallic maroon.
1. Consider some ducting.
2. You may also want to consider something like our 2-piece AeroRotors. They flow a lot more air, run a lot cooler, and should keep temps down significantly.
3. Bleed your brakes more than once every 7 track days!!!!
4. We do offer titanium backing plates in your front caliper shape...keeps quite a bit of heat out of the calipers. They're $79 per set. I don't think we have any in stock now though.
5. If all of that doesn't work, it may be time for a front BBK. We can do a 14" front kit in gold or black...depending on what shape your rear calipers are in.
The fact that your outside calipers changed color a lot more than the inners isn't surprising. We see that all the time. If you look at the hat on our rotors...it has directional standoffs to flow more air across the outer face to balance cooling with the inside. Just an interesting tidbit...
I'd stick with Motul RBF600. Just bleed it after every event, or at least keep an eye on your pedal. SRF all season is questionable.
