i just did my frist track day with the same guys i think you are going with. Once you get your line down they will start workign with you on braking points and also telling you when and where to go faster by laying down the power sooner.
if you have VDC on i would leave it on for a while. i got 4 runs out on the track and i kept it on for the first two. by the third one my instructor told me to turn it off before we went out. Once you turn it off start out slow and work back up to speed because it does feel MUCH differnt.
all i did for the track was empty out the car, change the oil, change the brake pads to a track pad and then put some high temp brake fluid in.
that day was hands down the most fun i have had in a VERY long time. Just go out there with a good attitude and listen to your instructors. I feel lucky i got a very good instructor that worked well with me for 3 of the runs.
I even took a ride with him in his miata and jesus that thing was insane. so low on power but the cornering speeds he was able to maintain were insane.
the whole point of the event is to have fun, and you will have plenty of fun!
