Default I survived my first track day! The Z did GREAT!

I feel spoiled! My first track day was at Laguna Seca and driving the Z. Couldn't ask for more...well...maybe some better brakes. My brakes started to fade during my 4th session and I had to sit out the last session. Overall, I had a great experience! Found the racing line after the second session and keeped it pretty consistant all day (yes I was shocked too). I guess all those hours on the GT4 and Forza really paid off.

I've seen and driven (in games) the corkscrew numerous times but there is nothing like experiencing it in real life. I almost fainted when I went over the hill the first time. You really have to learn the track then have faith because you can NOT see the turn when you're going into it. I have a lot more respect for race car drivers now. Track days KICK ***!....and brakes

For those of you who live close enough but haven't driven Laguna yet....GO DO IT!!! You will not regret it.

Here are some pics from the track day. I was the only Z! There's one picture of my taking the wrong line going downt he corkscrew. Scary moment but I saved it. Enjoy!

Couple more pics. Here's me hunting down the EVO. I can catch him in the corners but not the straights...

Nice! Laguna is a fun track. You should go to Infineon with us (VRT) this coming weekend that way you won't be the only Z there .

Man I wish I could but I can't make it this weekend. There was a black G coupe at laguna that day and he had VRT stickers on his car. It also had back nismo rims with slicks...I forgot his name tho. Nice guy. What group is planning the track day at infineon??

Black G Coupe??? I know that Eagle1 (white G Coupe) was at Laguna Seca recently, but not a black one. Anyways, I think the Infineon weekend is put on by Trackmasters.

Maybe the black on black coupe was Dayton...
Was he towing with a big Gunmetal colored Chevy truck that had black wheels?

Yeah! he had a gunmetal truck with a trailer. It was a black on black G. That's right Dayton was his name. He was telling me how much my stock brakes sucks..haha

Hahaha, yeah stock brakes are terrible. I like Dayton, super cool guy and a good driver. His car only has a few NA bolt ons, AP brakes, and race tires and he runs with some fast cars.

Edit: I think he is the only VRT car that is not forced induction...

Thats a good mod and even if you go built motor and TT the APs will still be awesome. Can't ever have too much brakes .

Sigh, why does this track have to be on the OTHER side of the country...

Awesome pics, what was it like powering out of the corkscrew in real life?

Congrats on your first event - undoubtedly it won't be your last. I've got my 4th one coming up in two weeks and can't wait. Tracking the Z is as addictive as autocrossing.

Love the photo approaching the cone. The first time on the track is a eye opener. Congratulations.

Scary and exciting at the same time. If you hit the apex correctly on second turn...you literally feel a sense of weightlessness. It's awesome! I'm not joking when i say it feels like a rollercoaster ride.
