1st track day this Sunday, help
Most of these events have professional photographers taking digital pictures. They are not cheap but make sure you take a look at them and buy only the ones you like. You will def want to go back again and again but you will literally leave with proof of what you have done. Most people don't have the ***** to run with cars at 150+mph so pics are all good.
Pictures are a terrific idea. Most of the events here in California do have pro photographers there, and you can usually get a CD of ALL of the shots he takes of your car, typically three different places on the track, and between 15 and 30 shots, for about $45. You can then print those yourself, or have them do ones you like right there. Some of the guys will do a computer mouse pad or even coffee mug with the shot you like. Prints of course are where the big cost grabs you. But $45 for a couple of dozen cool shots that you can email around to your buddies....that is not a bad value.

Most programs Discurage instructors driving student cars. Plus if you go in their ride, they are more familair and can show you a lot more

But for an intermediate or advanced student, who's already done the course a few times, then there's no need for the instructor to drive their car unless they want it. I've had several do that, which I will usually accept, but I'll limit it to 2 laps (well, maybe 3 for a Carrera GT or an Enzo
) but it'll be well under the limit as the student is paying for the seat time, not the instructors enjoyment. Just my $.02
