Default Update....Nismo 350Z is in B Stock

Looks like the Nismo will not be eligible for the B Stock class. The welds and low production run will bury it...

Yea kinda sucks but the welds make it so you can't take a regular 350Z and add the parts to make it a NISMO like you can with the Mustang Shelby GT.

So looks like it will be a spec rx8 class until they move the "slow" AS cars down...

Where are you getting this information? While I think this would be the right decision, the December Fastrack has not been posted, and there was no decision as of November.

I guess that all of the RX-8s are going to be disappointed next year...

So the Z gets some welds and it's bye bye B-stock. But the Shelby GT's and the Shelby Gt500's are still F-Stock. SCCA classing just kills me sometimes. I love the game, I just hate the way they do things.

The difference with the Shelby GT is that you can take a California Special edition of the mustang and change the suspension to the shelby suspension as well as the grill. Ad a hood scoop and cold air intake and you have a shelby equivalent. As well as re-flash the computer to get the extra 15 horsies...

Not so with the Nismo...

Nothing is official yet, since the FasTrack hasn't yet been released, but sometimes people know in advance since they know someone on the board.

Most likely the Nismo Z will end up in BSP, which still allows DOT-R tires. There's no street-tire class for the 350Z.

Probably A Stock , never heard of a vehicle getting moved straight to BSP , usually its ASP like the Exige.

LOL!

They haven't even decided yet. And per SCCA that I talked too, they still believe the car will stay in STOCK class.

Haven't we been over this already? Talking to one of the SCCA's tens of thousands of members doesn't make their opinion the official opinion of the SCCA.

That aside, that wording is quite specific in its non-specificity -- A Stock is still part of Stock.

Wrong. I talked to Doug which is one of the main guys who decides what class the car goes into. Not 1000s of members as you wish to believe.

Edit: I just talked to him again, he said as of this moment the SEB has not decided what class the car is going to go in. Due to the seam welds, the SEB is unsure what to do with the car. For now it stays in BS until they release the info.

I also talked to someone on the board and they have stated that because of the seam welds it is not going to be in stock. By the way it was never classed in BS do to when it was released.

We have yet to hear from our favorite RX-8 troll who is also on the board... Telling ehh...
