N-Tech got a pump to them, but I don't think they are going to use it... Time was short. I'm just sitting across from the Speedway in Chick-fil-A now, finishing up before I head back to the shop...

350Zs have won in Grand Am (nee Koni Cup) GS competition in the past. The Unitech Zs won a race as late as 2006, but never at Daytona. Daytona is simply not a circuit that fits the Z's strengths very well. Unfortunately, this particular 350Z team has not had any good results over the past year. Knowing how much it costs to compete at Daytona and finishing 48th is not a good way to start out the year...
Hey Guys,
Thanks for your support. Our times were off due to HP. We think with some more time tuning will help make some of the gap. For all the problems we had last year Daytona was a huge success. We ran the can wide open the whole way and didn't break and didn't crash. For the fist time out in a car that we had a little bit of test time with I'm very happy with the results. The races we did last year we had ZERO test time due to a whole range of issues, and it showed.
The Car and Driver guys were very happy with how things went, and I'm very happy as well. I've got to give Nick at N-Tech Engineering a huge shout out for driving up to Daytona from Tampa to try to get us the PS pump. We were withing 45 minutes of the grid and the crew chief didn't want to risk cross threading a bolt or improperly bleeding the PS fluid, so we ran as it was. The infield as a PITA wihtout PS. Counter steering was very difficult and the car didn't want to go back in a straight line. A new power steering pump and more power and we'll be on track.
We're looking for a sponsor and with some TV coverage (hopefully) and the Car and Driver article, hopefully we can attract some attention.
Anyway guys, this is a huge step forward, and I think we're going to have a very competitive car with a onlly a little more $$.
Thanks guys!!!
I'm off to watch the 24 hr race. Take care guys.

Rich can you give us any info on what you will do to get more HP? I see you have Jongbloed wheels. I worked for Bill part time while I was in the Marine Corps and his shop was in Santa Ana Ca. and still keep in touch with him.
Hey RKnight,
We're going to redesign our air intake. I know we're loosing about 10 HP to it. We also will change out our exhaust. The last little bit will be properly mapping the intake valve timing. We're using too high of a rate and the cams are moving irratically. Once we solve this we'll be up quite a few more ponies. I'm looking forward to the next race!

You would think that a Z would do pretty good at the glenn.
