Default SOLO2 Videos From Today

My best run: 52.3. Overall I placed first in SM2 out of 3-4 drivers and I also ended up with the fastest SM/SM2 time. Other cars included a lot of S2000's and miatas.

I can see numerous places where I was breaking way-late but I was able to improve my time over and over until the 6th run so, I considdered that a big positive

Oh yea, these were street tires.

Best run (#6):

hey man nice job on the win . What kind of camera mount are you using? I'm looking for some kind of non-permanent camera mount for autox

Very nice footage. What kind of mount are you using?

Just some things I noticed, and I'm far from perfect:

Keep your hands at 9 and 3.

From the audio it sounds like you could get on the throttle earlier and drive with the loud pedal more if you wanted. You're the one that has to buy tires though.

Hard to tell from the video but it doesn't look like the car is being braked *that* hard. Maybe you have a fairly stiff suspension setup, but I see little dive indicating hard braking.

It's hard to tell where your eyes are looking, but near the 28 second point in the first video it looks like you are staring at the slalom cones as you slalom, when you should be staring at the entry cone to the next sequence as you enter the slalom. Your eyes/body will take care of the slalom themselves.

Very nice - there's a few sections where I would likely get on the throttle too soon and spin. Well done!

Thanks! I was running a mount from Cruisecam.com - runs about $50 + shipping. The camera did not have any stabilization to it but my new one does.

I also tend to be more comfortable at 10 and 2 with my hands. I know they say you should be 9 and 3 but it just doesn't feel as comfortable.

As for the braking, I was on the ABS quite a few times. I could have been a lot better though - I was more concerned with being smooth and fluid - it lead to my quickest time

Quite a few people spun coming out of the 2nd slalom, but the Z holds those high speed turns really really well. Despite my efforts I could not spin her, IMO because of the Open Diff, which I see as being better than a 1.5 (another discussion)

Keep the advise coming, I can use all I can get
