Finally got to try out the GoPro in an autocross this past weekend at Columbus OH. Here are two different camera angles, one mounted in the front grill and one mounted inside the windshield.

Car is an 07 Grand Touring on new Bridgestone RE-11 tires (which btw are outstanding and I highly recommend )

The only thing I don't like about it is the sound - in the waterproof casing not much sound gets through, and when mounted in the grill you can only hear the engine at WOT (so when I let off a little it sounds like I put the clutch in). These were taken with the seal removed in an effort to let more sound in, but then you get noise at times.

Other than that - this thing is great. So easy to use, great viewing angle and for $199 I don't think you can beat it! If anyone else has played with one post up your vids!

 

ohh, nice camera angle. I would love to give GoPro a try. I've been using HaborFrieght suction cup SPL :-P

so how's the RE-11? is it better than RE01R or Dunlop Z1 star spec? what size tires are you running right now?

Tires are 245/40R18 and 265/35R19 sizes (stock). I think I'd need spacers to run wider on the front because they are close to the struts, and the 285s won't be released until June. But these are working just great!

I love the RE-11s, and they are def faster than the others. I'd love to do a side-by-side comparison with my Hoosiers someday to see what the difference is.

 

Can't dude, already signed up for the 4/19 autox with the gf. But I do want to headout your way pretty soon for an autox. Same for you to come out here and run belle isle.

Did you have the sound setting on high or low?

btw the sound on my videos is set to "low".,. I assume yours was too because the "high" is ridiculously noisy on vehicle.

 

I might do an autox or two in Cbus - HPDE is where it's at!

 

It was nice to meet you too! the 19th event is in Cleveland, Eastlake to be exact. That's a pretty good haul for you, but if you want to go just come up the night before and you are welcome to crash at my place.
