REQ: Recommendations on all fluids/oils for a Trackday car.
For every year that goes i use my car more and more for only trackdays, And driving to and from them.
At my last trackday my oil temp went up to 145c!
So now its time to change the fluids and i was thinking of replacing them for more racing friendly ditos.
I have a 2004 with Greddy TT
so what oil/fluid should i use/are the best for
Transmission
LSD diff
Engine
Power steering
brakes
So far i have used
Tranny = Redline MT-90
Engine = Shell
LSD = Redline HP GL-5 75W-90 LS
Brakes = Shell DOT 5.1
Powersteering = Shell something..
The last 3 years i have done my sevices at Ferrari, So i have used their oils.
But i dont think thats good enough enymore.
The full spec on the car is here
http://www.garaget.org/?car=40534
And keep in mind, They oil temp goes up fast on the track and the car is ALWAYS driven hard

LSD diff = Motul 90PA
Power steering - dont remember, but with a larger ps cooler your golden with whatever shell fluid you have.....:See here:
brakes = Motul RBF600

Any full synthetic oil (Mobil 1, Redline, Motul, Castrol, Torco, etc.) will be fine. I would run the gear and engine oil weights specified in your owner's manual. Also, remember to use a GL5 gear oil for the diff and a GL4 gear oil for the transmission. Nissan transmissions traditionally do not like a GL5 gear oil.

Yes. Until you actually do some analysis you should stick with what the factory recommends. I suggest that you start sending out oil samples for analysis and that will give you some direction regarding viscosity, contamination, engine condition, and oil change intervals. Just guessing or relying on Internet Engineering can get expensive.
yes that would be the best,
but i have no idea where to get that kind of info here in sweden,
there is a whole thread here about what oil to use with turbos

50 pages and no conclusion =)

I would agree with John on getting an analysis to further your choices. And watch out for the GL5 oils in the tranny, some manufacters say that oil actually eats up the brass in the tranny. I think Royal Purple has a few choices for good GL4 friendly oil in their lineup vs. most companies only offerring a 75-90'ish viscosity for the GL4's.

And why would you expect a whole bunch of Internet Engineers to come to a conclusion?
