GCAC autocross new system=seat time
For Saturday,we will now give drivers 3 tokens per work shift, as well as 3 tokens at registration.
(Each token is good for one run on the test & tune track. And each work shift is ~30 minutes.)
For Sunday, we are implementing a 4-run, 3-work-group system so drivers spend less time ******** cones.
If you are new to autocross or can only make one of the two days, Saturday is the seat time day with two separate tracks.
One is the test and tune, and the other is our novice school. Both run at the same time and everyone gets a lot of driving time if they want it. (Weather permitting)
At noon on Saturday, we have lunch, (provided with registration) and then everyone runs on the test & tune course.
Here is what one of the full (Sunday) courses looks like.

And a different course from inside the car...

And this is our website for more info.

Interesting way to do things, and a great idea. The only reason (other than its too slow) I don't autocross, is the complete lack of seat time. A day of my life for ~8mins of driving? No thanks. This is a good way to do things though, better than watching civics 3-wheel all day
^^ people who autox at one point never had any seat time. thats a poor excuse. its too slow? you need to ride with someone who can push a car, taking turns hard makes up thrill of going really fast. lateral G's = fun. you should try it, i guarantee you would fall in love with it.

The record holder averaged "only" ~60mph on a sport bike.
I can assure you, without even watching his run, he was freaking flying.
Driving the car at the limit, while constantly transitioning, is a thing of beauty and excitement....without even looking at the speedometer.
It's something you have to experience fully appreciate.
And don't worry about a lack of seat time. Everyone starts somewhere. We offer a novice school, but the sport in general is packed with helpful, veteran drivers.

Hey, I started in auto cross, did it for years. Then I went to the big boy track, and never went back.
As for speed, sorry running around in circles in a parking lot in 2nd gear, not my cup of tea. Coming down a back stretch from 200km/h to 120 on a sweeper, then feeling the car push out of it back up to speed, that is fun. Sitting around from 8am to 2pm and getting 6 x 60second runs in throughout the day....waste of my time. The only people I recommend auto cross to are ones who live too far from a real track, a complete first timer to performance driving, or are too scared to take it to a real course (sorry, you guys started it).
I will go to a winter auto cross though.
