Very NIZE Pics!!!!! Looks like my old DD 2006 Grand Touring that I blew during a DE event...

I didn't ventilate the racers cars Block anywhere...but pretty sure it has a cracked head and piston at a minimum....the water entering the engine when the head cracked locked it up before the Rods/Pistons could escape

And yes, i would love to get your old DE headers...what do want for them? not much i hope

I did get my HR headers on and the proper Test pipes on the car...so that problem is behind me, but happy to have a some stock DE headers in stock.

Note: I will be selling my tube headers and test pipes after I get all this stuff squared away.

So, I installed the engine 2 weekends ago, and it would not start
After some trouble-shooting, I realized that I HAD NOT ALIGNED THE FLYWELL CORRECTLY!

So i had to yank the engine out, align the flywheel, and NOW IT WORKS!!!

Boy I am an idiot...

I have been guilty of that too when I replaced my clutch and flywheel. I didn't align it on that pin so that the crank position sensor wouldn't read it right. Just turned over and over. I know the feeling. At least you figured it out and she is ready to go now. Let us know dyno numbers.

The deceased "built motor" pulled 260 WHP @ ~ 6200 RPM /236 Tq @ 4800 RPM on a DynoJet just before it was killed Power falls off dramatically after 6500 RPM

Today, I expect this one (2005 350Z Auto w/80k miles) to pull 215-225 WHP on the same Dyno on a 100 deg day.

Mods: plenum iso-spacer, stock cams, un-modified intakes, HR headers, test pipes, 3" pipe with no mufflers/resonators

The deceased engine was built by GTM 5-6 years ago and had all the nice forged internals, trick valve job, unknown compression, stock cams, tube headers, un-modified intakes, plenum iso-spacer, 3" pipe with no mufflers/resonators.

I'm thinking 245'ish, if the motor has compression numbers in the 160+ range. Also considering a "normal" DynoJet calibration. Good luck!

After 3 hours of tuning (and cool down periods in 100 deg temps) and $300 later @ Z1 MotorSports in Carrolton GA. , the new/used engine pulled 250WHP @ ~6300 RPM w/ 236 Tq.

And the old worn out "built" engine turned 260WHP...not bad at all.

Note: I also had him reset the fuel cut-off RPM to 6600...the other engine would rev to 7500 all day long...not gonna try that with a pure stock engine/valve train

Good call there Zazz93

260WHP is right at where mine is at and it also falls off right around 6500. Neato!

So how did the motor do this weekend?

What was the torque on the new motor...also, was it STD or SAE correction?

Well,

The bad: clutch slippage on Sunday, aftermarket fan burnt a power wire/fuse, exhaust leak at the Y-pipe to tailpipe connection, ABS appears to have died and flat-spotted a RF tire, hot as hell all weekend, I felt like shiate all weekend with cold/sinusitis/upset stomach problems
and my team partner/co-owner forgot to put the hood pins in after checking the oil level, then went on track and hood flew up Sunday morning in his TT session I bent the hood back down and ran the sprint race very PISSED!

The good: I started and finished both sprint races I got 1st place in both races/but didn't have any competitors in PTB, my main competitor didn't run due to a blown engine and I am now tied with him in points.

Overall the engine ran perfect, didn't use any oil and pulled very well. However I am still having an issue with the throttle...it is like an on/off switch about 1/2 way down...I will swap out the accelerator pedal assy 1st, then the throttle body...I have had this issue since I got the car. Open to suggestions

Engine info:
max HP - 250.36
max TQ - 236.70
CF: SAE Smoothing : 5
Temp ~ 95 Deg
