I like the idea, but the cost is still likely to be in the $800 a rotor range. They last almost forever but the cost is still tough to take unless you have a specific need for them.

Can you elaborate on the issue with these?

Please, do pick them apart!

Oh and just got an email back...

"Tom,

Thanks for the size information.

The pricing for the Mustang fitment rotors and pads are as follows:
Purchansed direct from the Turbine Rotors site- $599.99 per rotor and
$249.99 for an axle set (4 pads) of the race pad formulation.
FYI, we plan to start shipping May 1st 2012
Regards,

Ralph H"

Guess these have never been mounted on a car before.... wonder how the Mustang guys will like them.

That is much less than I expected and Mustang rotors are similar to ours so there ought to be a similar cost.

Thanks for working on this.

Still it will be over $2k for a set of 4, but this is a rediculously good price for carbon ceramic rotors. The price will definitely make the guys that are looking for standard 2-piece replacement rotors to step back and think a little bit before the purchase anything other than these carbon-ceramic ones.

I can't wait to hear the feedback from the Mustang owners.

If they offer significant weight savings (unsprung weight) and last a long time under heavy track use, then I would do it. Price sounds pretty good!

My efforts died but if someone wants to pick up the slack and shoot them a line feel free. I still think these could potentially be the next best thing in the rotor world if enough people convince them that there is a market in the motorsports-oriented 350Z community.
