Did you get any pyrometer data?

No, was too busy with the other changes. Hindsight is 20:20, and I should have taken some.

Here is a vid of me pushing the SpecZ a bit (on a pretty spent set of Hohos), and a new personal best.

Nice driving Scott. It looks like you're getting around the track quite nicely!

Man that track looks fast! Nice driving Scott! Are you allowed to run through the yellow arrows?

And btw, how is everyone getting so much camber from the stock a-arms? Just offset bushing?

No offset bushings allowed - just done by lowering.
If pavement isn't blocked off, it's fair game.

thunderhill is a lot of fun if you know how to keep your momentum going, I use to be scared of a lot of turns and take it really slow. After this weekend I got a lot faster and now its way more fun lol. Really fast track, slowest I get down to (and im still really slow there) is about 40mph, fastest is 123mph

For all you guys "in-the-know" about what it takes to prep a car. . . How much do you think a completely-prepped, inspected-and-ready-to-race SpecZ would go for if someone was shopping for a car that's ready to drop in and race? For the same of argument, let's assume said car has a salvage title, hence it's race car nature. . . $20k? $30k?

I'd say closer to 20k at this point if it's a DE car. It'll go up if the car itself and/or builder have/gain a championship pedigree.

Building 2 sell one? Spec Miata prices are crazy, $9500-23000.

I'm not even gonna look at spec 944.

Ya SM and SE30 are crazy priced and you can find a stock NA Miata or E30 for 2-3k

I don't even wanna know what SZ are gonna start going for if SZ becomes as popular as SE30/SM

I think a mid-pack runner will be about $24K, and a national championship prepped car will be north of $30K, maybe close to $40K.

I was thinking build one and offer seat to GT Academy winner, maybe get some Nissan sponsorship. Weird they didn't do that already.

Agreed...and I have been shopping for some other prospective Spec Z drivers/owners...and that is about right.

Even If you can get a properly caged car for $15-17k, it will still cost ~$7k on top of that to play. I recently found a decent PTB car for $17K, and that would still need ~$10k in parts and spares to race competitively in Spec Z. And that price doesn't include a "fresh" stock but powerful engine (semi-cheater ).

Also found a good T2 car for $25K...and that would still need to be converted to Spec Z...

Hold on the weirdness- the GT Academy winners are being placed in higher level pro series, not Spec Z. As for sponsorship, Nissan North America is already offering a generous contingency plan, so it'd be surprising if they would consider sponsoring any single entry.

So if you want to build an entry and put a hot shoe in it, look around in your region. Talented drivers are out there.

I think peoples expectations on price are little high. Hell, you can get a phoenix C5 T1 car for mid 20's now....
