somepics.

small off track excursion.

due to cracked portion I decided to cut out the "diffuser" area anyways. At least its lighter.

Next round isn't for a while. Still up on the air on what I'm going to do engine wise.

Well I do have some parts incoming courtesy of GT-Rob who's taming his track ready 350Z in favour of another platform. These will make my car lighter, which is always my main focus.
The engine is a problem I'm trying to work up the guts to fix. Ideally I would go LSX swap. But finding a shop to help with this is a problem. No one really seems to be too interested in doing this project.
Some say do it yourself! But that's not really a feasible option anymore. I'm better off working a little extra and paying a shop to do it.
And most importantly I added a new junior driver to my racing team.
I already had 1 junior test driver/ assistant mechanic

And on Sunday at 2:11 pm a second junior test driver/ junior mechanic in training was hired by team 2TH racing on a long term contract.

So that occupies all my time right now.

Well I ended up working my butt off this weekend so I figured I might as well add to my little journal here of what I've been up to.
Got a hood from GT ROB. Key is that ROB took 8 lbs of metal out of it, so lighter is better. I've had this crazy idea for race livery for a while so this was my big chance to be an idiot.

Before this was Robs hood it was Xjuddx's hood. And you guys may remember the Desi Auto Paint job.. well here it is in the flesh. It was special.

Rob plasti dipped it matte black. Was a lot harder to take off than I thought. So, something I'm used to... wire wheel!

Uhh maybe pushing a little too hard.

Kirkey seat I am going to need new brackets for. Also from GTRob

Down to the bare aluminum. I thought about going full polish on this. Or just clearing it like this. But like I've said I've had this stupid idea in my head since my Forza 3 days so we must proceed.

Take out hood pins? Nope time attack paint prep.

Some kinda aluminum primer. 3 coats.

Time attack paint prep.

elaborate Stencil scheme

Intimidation factor

Close to finished.

Hard to tell in pics, but that's neon fluorescent yellow. I'm so happy with it. I just wish the tooth was bigger. If I have time might spray paint on some more stuff later.

From rob.
spare hood gutted. About 8lbs came off

It's flimsy. I'm a little worried about it's flimsiness. I will duct tape the edges with purple duct tape.

It has two hood pins in it. I'm also definitely going to duct tape the edges. I might hit 175 km/h or ~ 110 mph, so it's got to be solid.
I used two spray cans of clear.. and they ran out without covering it well. I figured there's no way I'm buying another 2 cans at $15 a can, for what equates to a track car joke paint job.

Nice setup !!!
You should join us at Calabogie in September for a Time Attack race if you like road trip. If you never had the chance to try that place, then you should come.
I'm gonna have my 2003 350Z (almost like yours) and my father will have it 370Z (going for the title in it class). It gonna be the first time attack for us at that place and it pretty much the best place (East of Mosport) to do it.
5 km of pure driving.
See you on the track !!!
Here the link (in french....sorry) http://www.trackandtime.ca/
Martin AKA Trapu
Here the trio:
2009 370Z (Me)
2003 350Z (Father)
2005 Sentra Spec-V (girlfriend)

Missing: 2001 Sentra SE turbo (older track car...but faster than a 370Z...)
