After much consideration of starting a V8 swap I found an acceptable 05 engine for $632 to drop in. I was going to do this myself, but Brian Wong at APH said he could get it up and running next weekend for a very reasonable cost.
So I hope all goes well and I should be back on the road soon.

are you swapping a full engine or just shortblock? Does either require a new ecu or harness? Mine has started consuming oil(non-rev)

You can try to find the source of the oil burning, but might be cheaper to just buy a wrecker. You could always build it while your engine starts to end it's life.

It was GT Robs OEM hood. It has all the support gutted out of it. So it's very flimsy. It's held with catch pins. But at high speeds it wobbles. So I taped the edges to keep it still. Works like a charm.

Hmm there is no way I can spare an extra day away from the family, but I might be able to come up and spectate for a little bit. The track is only 35 mins from my house.
Rob I don't know if you got my message. I got the motor from Standard Auto Wreckers. It's from New York. Roughly 110 000 kms on it.

If it's finished early next week I will get the Kirkey seat installed along with some SPL V3 camber arms I just picked up.

They are very relaxed. Remember Redline Time Attack? Its the exact same rules.
This is the bulk of the classing rules for street class.
The street class has been designed for your traditional stock or slightly modified vehicle
which sees daily driving.
- Vehicle must be registered for use on public roadways. Vehicles entered into Street
Class must show proof of current registration to CSCS officials.
- All Street Class vehicles must use DOT street tires with a UTQG tread wear rating of
200 or higher, Tires with UTQG tread wear rating under 200 are not permitted in Street
Class
- OEM Doors, quarter panels and roofs must be kept in place.
- Front under tray cannot go rearward past the center-line of the front axle
- Rear under tray cannot go forward past the center-line of the rear axle
- No Fender Flares or Wide-Body Kits
- No Suspension that utilizes remote reservoirs unless the reservoir is integrated to
primary dampener body
- No 3-Way Adjustable Dampeners
- Two-Way Adjustable dampeners are ALLOWED
-Passenger seat cannot be entirely removed.
There are other rules etc but that's the jist of it. Some cars start in either super street or unlimited class even in stock form. The cars are also subdivided into RWD FWD and AWD.
