The CSCS season finale was almost a disaster. But one good thing is I was able to set a PB in the time attack practice. 1:21s finally. 1:21.59. I will work on a video and more of a story later if possible.
At least I'm the SR Class Champion 350Z. I know there's more prestigious awards out there, but not bad for a first season.

So here is my brief recap of the season finale.
I went into this one only needing to finish 3 spots behind the guy currently in second to win the championship. So I wasn't too concerned. I basically just needed to put a lap in to do that. I played with the car all morning. It was much much faster than before, but after my alignment it oversteered like crazy, so it took several driving and adjustment periods to dial some of that out. I put down a 1:22.7 my laps qualifying time with the start finish line being in the correct location. But I made a terrible decision and decided to run with the novice group to try and avoid traffic. It doesn't matter if there is less traffic if every car is moving 10 seconds a lap slower than you. It wasn't until I moved back to the advanced group that I got any laps in at all. Reviewing the data showed that the car could be as fast as low 1:21's maybe high 1:20s. So my goal was to go out and set that. This was by far the fastest field that showed up. A C6 vette was claiming to be in street class, but later got bumped out for what I think was R888's? 2 fast 240sx's and a Porsche Cayman R which was stock, but with pdk very fast and very consistant.
I screwed up the time attack run. Here's the video. I believe I finished in 1:23.9 which was good enough for 4th place behind the Cayman R, and 2 240sx's.
It was a really fun event. I really enjoyed seeing my Z's big sister Kelsey run around the track. Sasha Anis put up a fantastic 1:13.5.
Like I said my goal for next year is to add some aero and maybe run under 1:20 on street tires and still stock engine.

I looked at hatches..... soooo expensive for the weight!
I think the car looks hilarious. Its a little embarrassing to drive though. I saw a bunch of people on the highway taking video of me driving.

I know, its a big piece. Even to make a flimsy carbon and lexan skin was going to cost 300+ in raw material alone. But I think theres an easy 50lbs+ to lose with all that metal and glass.
How are you liking the seat btw?

Nice as always.
When did Sasha get a blue car and what's done to it? What happened to the red one that made 370+whp?

Considering it has the same name, you're probably right. I probably should have asked when/why he repainted or wrapped the car.
edit - Just saw the video. Sucks that you had fuel starvation. I have the same problem, except I need at least 3/8 per the OEM gauge. What was going on when you typed out "???????????????" in the video?

Lost ABS all of a sudden and brakes locked up super super easy.
VDC SLIP ABS and E Brake lights all came on. Which happens to me at track days sometimes. I always drive with VDC off but I guess the car still goes into that mode if the speeds of the wheels are too different for too long

Yes square. I guess I'm spinning the rears out of corners all the time?
Maybe it's the trail braking?
Only happened on 3/6 track days this year. lol.

I'm looking forward to next year's reports already. You've done a good job of keeping us updated this year.

I've had the VDC go nuts on me before in practice, I think it was some late braking (IE too late!) that caused it. ABS didn't disappear from what I remember but I didn't stay out long with it.

that you will be for sure!
