Default question for those that have run on Big Willow

So there is a track day event on Big Willow this weekend and I am debating going or not. I have only been on Streets of Willow which is a much slower track. My question to you guys that have been on both tracks is which track (big or streets) gives your brakes more of a work out? I'm asking this because my stock Brembos get pretty bad brake fade at Streets about 10-15 minutes of going around the track. If Big Willow isn't as hard on brakes as streets then i'm comfident I will have no trouble at all but I just wanted to make sure before I make the 3.5 hour drive up from San Diego.

Well, I have ran both of them and I would say I brake less on the Big track. However, you will be stopping from 120+ mph coming into the first turn out of the straight. If you are getting brake fade on streets, I would suggest getting some better pads for track only, like Carbontech. Anyways, hope that helps you a bit

Streets is a lot harder on brakes. There is only 1 heavy braking zone on Big Willow, that is the enterance of turn 3

130 mph on GPS into the breaking zone into 1, but its only a slight braking zone, enough to downshift from 5th to 4th. Turn 3 is the biggest braking zone, banging down from 5th to 3rd.

cool thats what i thought. I figured since the track was a lot longer and faster there would be plenty of time to let the brakes cool down between braking zones. I have also upgraded from oem fluid to AP Racing super 600 brake fluid but I have not been to a track since then to actually see if it made a difference or not.

The fluid should help with the spongey pedal issue you get from fluid boiling but the issue of pads "over heating" is just your need to get a higher temp track pad as you know

Lots more brake cooling time on Big Willow so you should be fine. If you run into issues just cut your sessions short as you start to notice fade...still worth it to run the big track...so much fun.
