Default Driving in the rain.

I do 5 or 6 track days a year. So far only one afternoon in the rain. My question is not about handling but about water coming in the car. This is my DD car but in general I'm not worried about some water blowing in. People without Z cars say that at speed they just get some spray in the car. In my Z the water comes in like a waterfall from the A-pillar just above the mirror. It is awful and most of it goes right in my lap. Even the wiper fluid does this. It is almost comical. My instructor couldn't believe it.

So I'm wodering if there is any sort of a vane, or even one of those ghetto plastic rain shields available for the Z. Or has anyone rigged anything to keep the water from pouring in?

Roll the side window up. Most open track groups allow windows up in the rain. Put a small window buster in the car in case you need to bust a side window to get out. Most corner workers also carry a window buster.

Rain coat FTW! In fact, I've still got my old Air Force camo gortex rain pants.

I would still love to find some type of channel, vane or something to push the water out rather than in. And I don't think anyone makes a plastic rain shield for the 350z since there is no frame around the window glass.

So rain coat & Sham Wows in the floor board.

And big garbage bags to cover the seats...at least the seat back will be covered, very hard to do the seat cushion without sliding all around

In DE you also have to single point-bys, pitting etc. So far every group I have run with requires both windows down. Not sure how serious they are about passenger window with no passenger though and I am running solo now.
