Hooked up all my cooler pumps and fans to a MicroPDM!
https://www.micropdm.com/
I am able to control the on / off functions via racecapture scripting.
Previously setup, everything was just always on with key on.
The idea here is no driver interaction required with switches ect stuff to forget to do. Racecapture takes care of it all for me.

Getting ready for the next event. Test run went awry, the Z kept overheating badly. Car sat for about a month in the Garage.
Replaced the thermostat, coolant flush and bleed out. Seems ok now. First real engine related failure after all these years.
New OEM. Dont mess with success here, never had any coolant temp issues with OEM.

New pads installed. China rotors.

BMW CCA Competition school at the Glen. I am happy to say I earned my w2w provisional license with BMW CCA. This experience was for sure next level. Taking a true w2w school is an eye opening thing. Nothing really compares at this point. Time attack / hpde seems so tame
You know Rod and I did this together! Door to door with my bestie. He passed to!

NJMP Lightning. Managed to go a little faster with a 1.17.29
AR1 loosing their edge? Likely.

Updated the racecapture app, seems to cause a bug with the script timing out. Restarted and was fine. Need to look into this some more.

The AR-1s were indeed trashed. Note to AR-1 users, there is no generous "flat" area like the NT01. Once they are flat they are just about done.
I should have flip flopped these WAY sooner. Wasted a few events with out the flip flop inside / out switch I usually do.

AR-1 are sold out nation wide, got lucky and found a lightly used set locally.

Improved my tablet mount. No more Velcro. W2W rules compliant.

Installed drink bottom for the upcoming Jeffapalooza open track enduro

Jeffapalooza time! Rod and I got out and had a blast. No real issues to report, didn't figure out the racecapture scripting issue yet. Just ran with the pumps on for now.

Rod killed his tires, we put on my spare set of rt615k that I keep on the trailer.

Awesome thread man, I’m actually in the process of turning my Z into a track car only for nasa hpde. I’ve got a staggered setup now on my Z running re71r, I want to switch to 18s square, what are you currently running setup wise on wheels, suspension and camber? I have the akebono bbk, trying to figure out what will fit. Right now I’m thinking of running 18x9.5 +25 with 275/35/18 tires. Thanks!

Hey, the best setup is 18x10.5 +15 its a very common fitment. This will fit 275/35 or 285/30 no problems

2022! Wow. 9 years really? I was so close to moving on to another platform but Rod convinced me to stick around and see this car to the end.
We are going CLUB RACING!
My Z just got back from the cage shop. I am busy trying to get ready for 22' season. SO much to do.
I am closing this thread and this journey. Not sure how / when I will post updates. I have such a nostalgic love for forums but seems kind of pointless these day.
Hope this thread helps many people along the way.

It sure has helped! love seeing the commitment and getting your hands dirty. We all know how much time and energy it takes.
I am not too far from you and would be down hitting the track or helping turn wrenches as well. Good luck with the club racing and will keep an eye out for any updates.

I can relate to the author not wanting to get notifications on a 10-year-old thread that's ancient history. but keeping it around for others is useful and if there's a way to just ignore notices that is more useful than shutting it down. If not on a forum via search, how the hell is a newbie ever going to solve problems? they won't, they'll just have to quit. so unless we want nothing but old people going to track event, we have to help newbies. and that means not taking elitist high road questions that we all had at one time or another.

to contribute more than a rant, I actually wanted to say, I have 18x10.5 and don't like how it looks in the front so I've got a second set with 9.5 in the front and yeah you can't move the wheels around for where but it's not a comp track car.
