In-car Video, Valkyrie 350Z ST3 NASA Sonoma
After a crazy few weeks of work after the decision was made to convert our Spec Z to a ST3/TT3 car, we were able to make it out to the first NASA event of the season at Sonoma Raceway.
The car went through a big conversion, along with some basic weight savings work that was not allowed in Spec Z, the most notable changes were:
- Jim Wolf Technology C2 cams and springs
- PPE Engineering Long Tube Headers
- Jim Wolf Technology Intake
- SPL Parts full spherical conversion and all adjustable titanium arms
- JRZ RS Pro remote reservoir shocks and Hypercoil Springs
- Hoosier R7's
- Aeromotions wing
We were able to make 295 WHP up from 265, and the car weighed in at about 3040 w/driver. We still need to do a little work to get to about 310 HP, and get the car down to 2900 w/ driver to be really competitive in ST3.
As it was we were within about second of the leading e46 M3 in the class, we turned a 1:48.3. Enjoy the video!

. ST3 also allows me to showcase a little more what I can do as a car builder given the open ruleset.

Awesome, thanks for posting!!
Haven't run at Sears since the 'early '80s (well before the re-config of T8+)! Nice to relive, if only virtually. Oddly, I still get that shuddering feeling of impending doom coming out of the esses (in your vid).... right about onto the spot I went off course at T10.
Backwards. Ooops.

I think we need a bigger splitter

We are not building the car for outright speed only, the main goal for the car is ST3 and E0, and the 25 Hours of T Hill. We sacrifice speed for durability and weight to be sure. With some more time on the car maybe we can get close, but that is a ripping fast time for a TT3 car.
