Not exactly sure what category to post this in, so one in the general and one here for the tracksters.
1. Roll bars. I just put in a custom bent/welded six point tubular steel roll bar, with a solid steel harness bar that is fitted at both ends with a 3/8" detent pin to make it removeable. I left the stock three point belt in so that if pulled over on the street I will not get a ticket for having a non DOT restraint, and also so that I can remove the harness and use the rear passenger seats when the rare occasion arises that I need to do so.
2. Radiator. The Koyo high capacity radiator is the 350Z model. To make it fit you need to shear the top mounting pins and reweld them to the proper spacing to fit the G coupe. Also, the lower mounting tabs have the slot cut too far away from the core, so you need to take your little rotary tool and cut a new slot about a half inch closer to the core. The fill neck is on the opposite side, so a longer piece of tubing is required to hook up to the overflow bottle. Otherwise it is pretty good. The difficult part was that with the supercharger there was not enough room for the radiator to fit by the fan shroud. Accordingly it was necessary to trim back a) that part of the shroud that came too close to the cog belt and crank pulley and 2) a small piece of one of the support arms to the right side (facing car) fan to clear the turbine housing. You can see from the pics that it is snug, but by golly it works. You can also see that the core is almost triple the width of the stock core.
3. Seats/Harness system. The seats are the adjustable Sparco Milanos. They have a great lumbar support, and they sit about 1.5" lower than the stock seats. They are much more comfortable, and probably 20 pounds lighter. You can now sit in the car with your helmet and not smack the headliner/sunroof, which is a problem if you are 5'10" or taller in the stock seats. The harness is the Sparco four point bolt in, with the pull down adjustment.
You can see from the external pics that the harness bar and roll bar are virtually invisible from the outside, which is what I wanted. The kick back bar went through the quarter panel (scary moment cutting that out, yes?), but in doing so the functionality of the drop back rear seat is completely maintained.
Just fyi, the hood is painted carbon fibre VIS with functional vents, to draw off heat. With the engine cover removed and the high capacity ARC oil pan, it now runs sustained 80+ mph at engine temp around 182 F, with stock thermostat.

Gary Castillo in Lakeforest, Calif did the roll bars and the radiator installation for me. He does a lot of custom stuff, but most of it is not retail. Instead it is for show cars, SEMA show stuff, race teams etc. Terrific guy and very talented. If you can conceptualize it, he can build it, is almost as far as it goes. I think that normally he would not dink around with my car, but because of all the SEMA show work that was out the door, he had an opening to fit me in before the next pulse or cycle of show car work. My good luck.

My next track day is not until Dec 17th at Cal Speedway in Fontana. I really wanted to come to T-Hill, but scheduling conflicts next week, and the other event from Speedventures on Thanksgiving Weekend, ruled it out.

The lateral support of the Sparco Milano, which is a street performance design, not a race seat, is better than the stock seat, and the lumbar is much better. Most important, the suede like cover helps grip you, whereas on the leather coupe seat your bottom slides all over the place.
I was tempted to get a shell or race bucket, very tempted, because they lock you in so well....but the daily driver element of them is just incompatible with their design.
Nice rollbar install. Should instill a little more confidence when approaching Willow Springs high speed sweeper at 10/10th's. I'm thinking of putting one in as long as it's not too intrusive. I have a Z so I'm guessing it'll be fine. No back seat passengers to worry about. Just my dealer when they see a rollbar in the car! AH!
