since there is water in the ballast, just shake off the water off and leave it out in the hot sun to dry. crossing my fingers for you that should work.

I meant opening the ballast. I found out that the problem wasn't the HID after I switched the bulb into the working headlamp. So now it's narrowed down to the water in the ballast, or a blown fuse. Main connection is fine and supplying power. I've read through several posts in which people just dried the ballast and everything worked out. Hope my situation turns out that way. I'll keep you updated. Thanks for your help.

Success! I dried the ballast with a hair dryer after i shook most of the water out, then wired everything up and it turned on. OMG what a relief!

FYI - You don't have to put the headlights in the oven. I just did mine with the help of a forum member and we used a heat gun.

the black housing 06 lights look hot!!!

how much is it to buy stock 06 lights, from where for how much?

why do you need to heat them again after you put the sealant on? wont the sealant just air dry, why do need to soften it to re seal it?

Heat guns works too , however u have a higher risk in warping the protective cover/other parts; the oven heats it evenly.

Thanks a lot Jedz for working on this together over the weekend. The original intent was using these directions to take out the 1/2 cup of water inside my headlight.

My HID worked after drying everything and and resealing. I'm sure since we were able to experience this, the headlight blackout is next!!!

haha don't worry about it taking it that long. Sometimes when I work on headlights I take my sweet time. Never want to rush it and want it turn out smooth. Was it easy for you to completed the project? I see that a lot of folks are afraid to do their own headlights.

Great job on this thread, I just blacked out the lights on my friends G35. IMO it was pretty easy but a pain in the ***. When cookin the lights, i found that 7-8 min at 250 wasn't enough. I ended up trying that 3 times and it wouldnt budge, so i just said screw it and bumped it up to 15min and it opend right up. I can't wait to find the time to do this on my Z, and im also thinking of modding the tail lights since there the 03 editions.
