Personally, i wouldn't get this style, you normally see the panel through the lens

I think mine were 9 SMD festoon contained, my friend ordered them from Ebay, so i have to wait to get the exact spec. If not, i will go and take a pic in the car, i'm shocked i never took a pic when i got them.

You can't see the panel at all I have it wedged between the festoon mount and the switch and I feel it looks more uniform because the light is projected from the middle instead of the sides. Either way is fine, I had that style before but I just wanted it a little brighter as I am always doing audio installs at night.

That's good if you can't see the led panel through the lens, i know my friends car has that style and they show

Yeah, i have to say, it's a *lot* brighter in the cabin with the replacements, i was impressed. Feels normal now, but compared to the filament bulbs, it's night and day.

I have to say, i certainly prefer the festoon style just for ease and cleanliness for install etc.

For those wondering, just look up "SMD 6614F" on eBay and you'll find a ton of these replacement bulbs.

WeeZzel, are you after the dome light info or the vanity light info?

Ah, can't help there sorry, i highly recommend the bulbs that are built in complete, i don't see the need to do that style anymore as they don't appear any brighter.

For those looking to do this, look up what I posted above. If you click the links above, you won't find them after the links expire at eBay.

Also, if you have a 03-04, the festoon bulbs DO NOT WORK. The internals are a little different inside the vanity mirrors, so I'm guessing this is only for 04.5 and up.

Here's the place i got them from, pretty fast shipping too.
White 3-SMD 6641 Fuse LED Visor Vanity Mirror Lights 6000K White, GTJDM #31mm
I know this is a huge necro bump but this thread still comes up on Google when you search for 350z vanity lights since there aren't many sources for the info. I bought the same LEDs that this guy linked and they are actually the wrong size for my 2005 350Z. Mine has 28mm lights in it and the ones he linked are 31mm. The lights are just that little bit too long to actually fit in so you can't use them.

For the dome lights I used "Universal Interior Dome Map SMD LED Light Conversion Kit T10 festoon" and they fit perfectly as it comes with 3 different cables and the one that fits the Z is spring loaded so you can just squeeze it til it fits in and then snap it in place.

Although the SMD lights are very bright to look directly into compared to the regular bulbs once they are behind the plastic diffuser theres no problems.

Since I necro bumped I'm going to link a gallery of how the lights compare -- https://imgur.com/gallery/i9sWI

No pics of the vanity light behind the diffuser as they're too big to actually fit in properly I need to order some more still.
