Well, it's been a month now with no response or updates. As I said before, when you're buying a big brake kit, you're buying a lot more than the components. You're buying customer support, experience, and confidence that you will be covered in the future with parts and help should something go wrong. Put a price tag on all of these items, and I think you'll find that our $1995 front BBK is quite reasonable.
You know what? I'd really like to shut ^^ This Dude ^^ up. So if anyone out there has purchase one of the Willwood BBK we've been discussing in this thread and willing to allow me to borrow one of the mounting brackets for a few days or is willing to take the part to a local machine shop and provide me with the exact specs... I'd be willing to pay the cost once I have a exact copy of the finish product in hand. PM me and we can work out all the details.

Ummm...I don't see how there's anything "hard sell" about it. I was making the same point that I made at the beginning of this thread. After crucifying myself and StopTech about the massive profits we're reaping off of the helpless rabble, you're no closer than you were a month ago to having a functional brake kit...and track season is fast approaching.

The problem is that you're resting your hopes on one individual, which usually doesn't work well in a situation like this, particularly if that individual has a life outside of trying to develop this brake kit. That was my point. I wasn't bashing Wilwood at all...don't know why you think that. As for misleading, I'm not trying to mislead anyone. What's misleading is getting everyone pumped up over something that isn't happening any time soon. I'm telling you now that nothing will move forward on this project in a timely manner with one guy doing the leg work on it as a hobby!

That's why companies such as ours, Wilwood, Brembo, Endless, etc. exist.

Havok, sorry that infuriates you so much...wow, you need to relax.

Nano, as before, you're dismissal means nothing to me...so thanks.

Good luck, and have fun gentlemen.

Some people always have to learn the hard way.

Oh...forgot to say...a "hard sell" is not a descriptor that anyone has EVER used for me. Anyone that's met me or talked to me on the phone will tell you the opposite. I talk people out of four wheel kits (and recommend front only kits) and more expensive drilled rotors every day. I encourage people to do their research, ask the right questions, and look at the big picture when choosing an upgrade...whether it's brakes, wheels, or anything for that matter.

I'll say it again myself. I won't pay 2K for front brakes. Bottom line. If this works out, fine. If not, Arizona Z car Wilwoods for me. That's my big picture, or at least the one I'm looking at. If I can save $600 and help a small businessman to keep developing parts, I'm there. The $600 will buy a lot of replacement pads etc down the road.

Wait, but why won't a front only kit drastically imbalance the brake system? I mean, everyone's talking about calculating area of pad and rotor diameters etc to maintain a near factory distribution. So wouldn't a front only kit imbalance the car?

They all sell front only kits. Stoptech included. In fact, Jritt discussed talking people out of a 4 wheel kit they don't need.

I run a small manufacturing plant. Depending on the bracket I can have the shop build it. Picture anyone? One of my engineers can draw it and we or a vendor can make it.

myG35zx,
Sounds good...I'm sure you guys will need the exact measurements as well correct?? What would we be looking at price wise?? There are quite a few pics posted earlier in the thread (I think between pages 3&4) to use as your reference..

A rear kit isn't necessarily needed, as long as the front kit is done properly. Check out this article for more info...these rules apply to ALL BBK's, not just StopTech products.

http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp...upgrades.shtml

That said, the 350Z tends to eat more rear brakes than most vehicles, primarily because the stock rear rotor and pads are tiny! They simply don't have the heat capacity that they really should on this car. This topic has been discussed many times on this forum though. Do a search on 'rear brake upgrades,' etc. You should be able to dig lots of info up.

Default willwoods

Sup guys, I have the Front wilwoods, if you look at the first couple of threads, I'm the one that sent Kbiz the brackets for him to copy. I'm willing to let one of you guys borrow the same ones to copy if you need it. All I ask is I get them back the way you got them and pay for shipping.

Kbiz stated earlier in the thread that every bracket he looked at used T6 aluminum, he speculated using T6 or T7.
