Default SS brake lines run different from stock? Need help fast.

My z is at the shop to have russell ss brake lines installed, and the mechanic says the stock brake lines have two lines on the front brakes, whereas the ss ones i bot have only one. He said he could connect both ends with the one ss brake line. Is this normal? It'll be finished in two hours. Please advise!

Ran into the same issue, thats how its supposed to be, the other is for the ABS system, that will stay there, I have Stoptech, but essentially the same deal, just had my fronts installed no negative impact, definite improvement. One shop told me the same thing, took it to another and he said Nah its the ABS line

Usually there is one line per caliper. My SS line for the front is long and one piece. One side connects to the metal lines that snake down from the master cylinder, then i have a bracket on the strut it feeds through so it doesn't get tangled, then the other side mounts right to the caliper. I have seen some lines with a connecting block in the middle, but it's still one line. The rears are short and just one line also. I'll have to take a look again, but i don't remember seeing two lines to the caliper.

ya, my oem brake line runs from the master cylinder posteriorly, then connects to the connecting block, then another line runs forward from the connecting block to the caliper. its not one continuous line. my installer removed all the oem line and just ran the ss one directly from the cylinder to the caliper. i'm concerned because its running different from stock.

it should be okay, there should only be one line connecting the the brake line to caliper. Doesn't the pedal feel a little better? It should feel stiffer? Do you have standard OEM brakes? I still have mine in the garage i'll check later, but i'm sure you're alright.

You are all good, just keep an eye to make sure the line does not rub the wheel. I had this problem.

thanks, everyone. i'll check to make sure its not rubbing. i don't have the brembos, so its just one connection to the calipers. it doesn't feel much different, but i haven't driven it much with the ss lines yet.
