Default Lowering springs affect stock shocks

Just wondering, if I change my springs to the Hotchkis or Tein S-Tech springs and still use stock shocks.
Will my stock shocks wear faster?

Or should I just go with aTEIN 350Z / G35 Type BASIC Damper

I am running S-Tech's and I like them alot with the stock dampers. I believe they will wear a bit faster than with stock springs but not more than 5-10 k miles. IMO, with a damper that lasts 50-60 k miles, whats 5-10?

However, I am currently planing on ordering a set of Tokico D-Specs because I would like some more rebound. Overall it will be a bit less money than coil overs but it will lack the adjustability. I honestly wouldn't adjust my suspension that much so coilovers seemed like an invitation to setup disaster.

Anyone installed aftermarket springs and still use their stock shocks?
How many miles did you put in and how's the ride?

I have the Eibach Pro Kit with the stock struts. Only had it for about 1500 miles. No problems yet. The ride is stiffer than stock. But I like it that way.

Been using this setup for about a year now, ride is stiffer but handling improved. It's a good option for those who want to lower the car, improve handling, but not spend very much. Never regretted it at all. RS*R TI2000 springs.

everybody's answer in this thread has to be qualified with information on whether they have a 2003-04 or a 2004.5+ OEM shock/damper

the damping specs are different depending on the OEM years

to the OP, hotchkis can be handled by either the old or revised OEM specs. on the other hand, S-techs have an increased front spring rate that i would only run if you were going with aftermarket dampers. you might be able to pass s-techs if you have the revised OEM suspension, but the front rates may not be handled well.
