Rotors sound as if they are on a lathe being turned. :(
I installed new oem brembo pads. INstalled new Stoptech slotted rotors.
The install was pretty straight fwd to do. Infact the brembos are one of the easist brake pads ive done.
Anyways i swapped out the setup then took it for a simple spin. It sounded as if my rotors were getting cut/turned on a brake lathe. As if the pads were dragging on the rotors. Car has 33k so i doubt its the calipers sticking, cause they are both doing it.
Anyways I caleld up StopTech and they said i needed to break them in by doing 8 60to 10mph stops in a row. I did that then drove home and turned off the car. I basicly used the ebrake with very lil minor normal braking because they said that I needed to let them cool off and that the brakes should not be applied at a stop cause you will get a high spot.
Well I still have the lathe noise and its very annoying. Heck i swapped out my setup initialy because the left pad wend down a little to much and started cutting into the rotor. Makes your car look like crap when it sounds like that. Now $500+ later and my turbo caravan sounds better.

Hmm... that's wierd. The only time my car has ever done that is when I cooked my worn-down front pads. It sounds obnoxious, I know what you mean. Is it all four corners making the noise, or just the front?
Well I coocke my right rear pad. The rotor was messed up. I replaced however both rotors and pads so I doubt my right caliper is damaged because I hear it on both the front left and right wheels.
I did not replace the rear.
Sounds like the pads are riding on the rotors.
I removed a bolt on the rotor and put it on th enew one. Is this for balancing purpose? I dont hink it was for a slide hammer or something.
