Default Do I need to replace my shocks?

For the past month my car has started to squeak on bumpy roads. Thinking it was a bushing I checked and lubed them all and still squeaking. So here is a description of the problem.

after the car has been sitting for a while, lets say overnight. I will not hear the squeaking for a few minutes of driving but once it starts it doesnt go away. So one day I pull into the garage right after I just started to hear the squeak so I start to shake the car and I hear it loud and clear coming form the front of the car. If I get out of the car and start to shake it I will hear the squeak but if the car is parked for a minute of two it cant be replicated anymore.

Struts will outlast regular shock absorbers, but still will no last forever.

Here is a simple test for the front and rear. Push down the bumper and let it go. The bumper should travel up once the back to the original position. The road is a better test but because of familiarity, it is difficult to remember what the car used to ride like. Another test is to drive a new G35 and make a mental note of the handling.

Check & make sure your rear & front strutbar bushings are properly lubed. I've encountered several people who had squeeking problems & it ended up being their strut bar.

I SWEAR GUYS, After 5 minutes of driving it begins and if you park it right a way and start to shake the car you can hear it. After a minute of being parked I am not able to reproduce it, it goes away after the car is settled??

Your car is telling you that it's time to replace it with an '06 G35 coupe with the sport tuned suspension package.

Isolating squeaks is a headache as you know. Is it possible to put the car on a lift, and have someone push the bumpers up and down to try to get it to squeak? And you stand by with a can of WD40?

well that was the best idea cause just before I read this I asked soemone to listen to it and they were like it sounds like its coming from the hood

So I sprayed everything the hood touches with............WD40 , the latches and even the rubber lining so far so good. However I will report back after some more driving.

Good luck. Not to be a Smart Alex but WD40 is the most worthwhile item in my tool box.
