Default My EBC Rotors and Pad Install

Just wanted to share some pictures of my EBC Sport Rotors installed on my 350Z. Installing them was pretty much straight forward if, you installed rotors on cars before. They are pretty good rotors. Only annoying thing is they make a swoosh noise when I apply the brakes. Which is normal...thats what EBC claims. And they state on the box that the noise will go away after 300 miles. Keeping my fingers crossed. And I paired these rotors up with the EBC Red Stuff pads. Anybody else tried these rotors before? If, you have any info on them would be greatly apprecicated.

I actually had the same setup on my Z when I was running those brakes.

I love the EBC rotors and red stuff pads. Great bite and very little fade. Best choice IMO.

Did yours make I swoosh sound when you applied the brakes? And does it go away after the bedding in process..?

I actaully just did this same brake job on my track! I dont have any wheels for it right now but I cant wait to see the difference. Yeah I was guessing they will make some noise until you put a couple hundred miles on them. I am hopeing that this will be a good track and street set up for me. Guess we will find out.

I got them at this website http://www.car-stuff.com/performance...26&part_name=7 8&category= and this place was the cheapest I found. If you order from them you should get your rotors in 4-6 days and shipping is free. My car is my daily driver/street use and using the redstuff pads will be fine. Hope this helps you out.

I can not tell you as, I only got to drive the car for like 20 miles when I installed the setup. Because my car is in the shop right now for a Vortech supercharger install. I will post up some info on the stopping force when I get the car back. You can also ask USN HM 350Z as he had the same setup on his car.

Any updates on your brakes?

I recently got the EBC redstuff pads and sport rotors for the front on my car and will eventually get the rears too when mine are worn down.

Ive had my pads and rotors on for about 800 miles and I love them... great bite, low dust, they look nice...

Did your swooshing sound go away? mine hasnt.... its doesnt bother me much... but its still there... as is a faint clicking sound while driving.... mostly only noticable when driving against a K-rail or something else that bounces the sound back with the windows down.

which size ebc rotors did you get? about how much was the whole setup? thanks.

I'm just curious to see which size rotors and pads you went with and if you used the factory calipers.

Thanks

I can tell you that at 10k miles, my swooshing is still there. It is not bad, like I've said before, I can't even hear it with the windows up but I will most likely switch to a different rotor next time around.

I have heard that EBC has reduced the number of slots from 5 to 3 on the new rotors to make the quieter.

I still have the swoosh sound but, it is not as loud as it was in the beginning. My clicking sound went away. I put about 10,000 miles on this setup and the brakes still have good bite to them. If I had to do it all over again. I would get different rotors. Just because of the EBC's making that swoosh noise.

I got the 11.0 Inch Diameter, which has a 11.6" Diameter Rotor. My setup costs $489 shipped. And I used the factory calipers with this setup.

I really like the EBC brakes too... ONLY complaint would be the noise, but its so barely noticable that it doesnt bother me at all....

I think you are right about the slots, I think I have the ones with 3 slots and more dimples. I will go look later.

I would recommend this set up, great for street so far, an improvement over stock all across the board. Cant vouch for track yet, other than drag racing and stopping fast at the strip and they worked beautifully to do that.

I love how little dust there is too... my wheels thank me.

Default I have the same rotors

I've only got about 500 miles on them and I HATE the noise. Sounds like a set of ball bearings rolling the whole time to me. I have them all the way around and I WILL NOT be using these the next time... thats if I can put up with them for long. It drives me nuts! I feel like its the metal sensor that tells you your pads are low. I called the manufacturer and they say they note this on their website.. well.. it should be on all the websites that sell them cause I didnt see that. It looks good sitting still but running its horrible! Makes a good looking car sound like *&$(!
