Thanks for that write up mberthia. I was wondering what my options were for the OE rear calipers. I've got ST-40s in the front and there are some good pad options for those, but it is slim pickings as far as race pads for the rear. How are the HP blues (rear) for street, or is it strictly a track pad?

Just tried my first "track pad" yesterday at www.BeaveRun.com in PA. I have Carbotech X8's front and rear. I have an enthusiast with non-brembo's, braided lines, fresh ATE SuperBlue fluid, dedicated OEM "blank" rotors and Kuhmo Ecsta MX street tires 245F/255R. Previously I have tracked OEM pads, Hawk HPS(that was a mistake) and NISMO R tune pads(that I still use for street and autocross with a set of slotted Stoptech rotors). Loved the X8's, took the first session to bed them and was happy all day. Total of five 20min sessions in group 2. ZERO fade. I was braking from 105mph at the end of the front straight bouncing off the rev limiter in fourth gear, braking AFTER the 150 foot mark downhill into T1. Spent all day playing cat and mouse with a BMW M coupe, and I was outbraking it. I think if they had more bite they would have overpowered my street tires. Only question is how long they will last?

The blues are definately only for the track. I would not even drive them to the track unless it's just a few miles. It always check the thickness of the rotors with micrometers to monitor the wear. Have you tried the Axxis Ult in the rear ?

PS. I just got front brembo's. I have not installed them yet.
