Default ABS .... help

hi there

i have 2004 6MT , stock brembo brakes. stock suspension. i am facing problem with the ABS, once i get to a U-trun and i apply brakes and turn the steering right (while braking) i feel a sound and i vibration from the brakes. only on the right side. when i turn left that doesnt happen.

i took the car to the dealers in Cal. and they checked with the Computer and it showed that all the sensors are fine. the guy there told me that this is normal.. but i never felt it before.

any ideas guys...

EDIT: small corerction LEFT NOT RIGHT

I guess I'm confused because I've never heard of a right-handed U-turn.

What tires do you have on the car? Size and brand?

Does it happen all the time or just at higher speeds?

nightcrawler_8: the nissan dealers checked the sensors and they working fine. no errors at all.

If it was at moderate speeds, I would guess it was VDC kicking in rather than just an ABS problem. You can test that theory by turning off VDC next time(s) you make a U-turn and see if it still occurs.

Unless you live in Britain or former British colonies.

In that case, it probably is the ABS.

What brand of tires do you have on the car?

What sizes?

Was the dealer able to reporduce the problem or did they just hook it to the machine and magically declare that all was okay?

Yokohama

thats exactly what happened.. they hooked the ECU console and they did ABS check and it showed that all sensors OK.

It could be an intermittant problem with one of the sensors, especially if it only occurs when driving it. They can test it on the machine all day long and not get an error. If the tech doesn't go out and drive the car and actually see/hear/feel the problem, he's not going to do much digging.

Another remotely possible problem might be in the tires sizes you are using. The stock tires are 26" diameter on the front, 26.7" on the rear. Your tires are only 24.5" and 25.3" diameter - significantly "shorter" than the OEM tires. I don't see how that could be causing the problem though.

Have you ever bled the brakes or replace the brake fluid?
What about brake pads? Ever replaced them or do they have a lot of pad left?

I'm shocked that the tech took the car for a drive, recognized the problem, then essentially didn't fix it because the test computer says it's alright.

At this point, I'm stumped.
