First drive with Koni / Truechoice installed
I picked up these goodies from a fellow member:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ght=truechoice
While my engine swap was going on (my APS TT for stock+cash) we put these in (along with 350evo a-arms and sway bars). Preliminary opinion: HAPPY AS A CLAM. Wow, the car is planted. Not in that 2000lb-per-corner "rides like rails" way but in that "yep, I can handle what you throw at me" way. I left the setup the way Brian had it, both height wise and rebound+damping. It's soooooo much better than stock, yet not a drastic change, which is the most impressive. I'm sure on the track I'll notice a ton more differences, but the thing that got me was no more "porpoising" and the ride quality - it's more firm than stock, but NEVER jarring or abrupt (my Turner Motorsports stuff on my e30 was actually stiffer, plus that car is 500+lb lighter).
I couldn't be happier. Pictures tomorrow of the stance for those who care about the aesthetics (me, I'm too busy / happy driving with it to care how it looks lol).

By the way the only reason I ask is I see they are hypercoils which are awesome IMO. I have jics and want to go softer but dealing with them is like hitting myself in the nuts with a hammer. One day maybe I'll get some brains and switch over to truechoice. I'll start with the rear spring setup.

I didn't install them, from looking under the car, it looks like it's using the stock mount on the bottom w/ the adjustable-height perch above the spring?
I was lazy and was taking pictures with my iPhone, it was awfully bright, wrong time of day, etc and they looked like crap - not enough dynamic range to not either have the car completely blown out and white or see the dark wheels/tires - so you couldn't even SEE ride height lol, sorry! I'll take some photos soon (enough).

You should be able to order hyperco springs for your rear setup. The problem would be whether the JIC damping would be appropriate for your new spring choice. I can confirm they use the stock seat. It was my also my impression Truechoice's adjustable upper is similiar to the JIC so they may be interchangable.

palepony thank you very much I have the jic progressive and they use the stock rear seat on the bottom so I guess its time to jack up the car and remove a spring do some measuring and call hypercoils. The dampening thats a different story lets start with some quality springs with a reasonable rate for street use. I am curious these are top notch race coilovers maybe 425-450lb springs are the "right"(I put it in quotes for those people who love the hard stuff) rates for track use. This is a conversation for another thread. But thank you for the information and I am sorry for hijack the thread and I wish you the best of luck with one the most highly regarded coilover setups for the Z.

I'll eventually get some more photos of the car, but right now I'm far more interested in dealing with stuff like wheel studs, hubs, brakes, a ton of maintenance / preventative stuff before I track it again.
