This only truly matters when you have over-inflated your tires. Stock pressure shouldn't give you too much trouble.

I'd think it's the opposite. Too much power will result in greater slipping of the tires, thus burnouts. By applying less power to the wheels while increasing throttle gradually, the wheel hop can be eliminated as your tires aren't overpowering the grip with the initial bite.

I'd assume the best physical change you can make, excluding to your own driving technique (which should be your priority), would be suspension mods. You would want your rear to squat down, but not spring up right away (which means less weight applied to the rear suspension, thus greater likelihood of wheelhop).

The worst wheel hop i had was always in the rain. I would accelerate from a stop, not trying to spin the tires, but would get obscene hop.

Too much traction would equate to tires sticking to the ground, thus being able to put more power to the ground. That means, tires are gripping and not slipping.

He's getting alternating traction (on off on off on off). The best remedy would be to learn to control your launch better. It's probably easiest to start at a lower rpm when launching, so your tires have a greater chance of gripping from the less power applied.
