Default I have Konis. add Ground Control or just go with Tein Basics?

I have a set of Koni adjustable struts/shocks with an otherwise OEM suspension setup in my z. I'm looking for stiffer springs that don't drop the car much as I live in MA and this is my daily driver. I've looked into Ground Control coilover springs, which will allow for height adjustment and have a stiffer than OEM spring, however it seems as though they don't have 350z kits anymore listed on their website (or maybe they never had them at all). The other option is to get a set of tein basics and sell the Konis. A set of non adjustable springs is not an option.

Does anyone know where to get Ground Control for the Z?

If the kit is available, can anyone compare Konis + GC VS. Tein Basics?

I do have more that I can say concerning this thread, but it's off to work.

Thanks for the info!

I searched and didn't come up with anything useful. Even if you quote a search it always performes an OR search. Ground OR Control; two common words...

How do you like your setup?

Well, their's the setup shown discribed in the link I posted and their's the setup I'm currently on. Only differance is I'm now on Truechoice Phase IV front shocks and I'm about 1" lower. Concerning the all Koni shock setup (pretty much what is shown in the link above) where I had about a 1/4" drop, I really liked it a lot, I'd still be on the setup if their was a way to get the ride height lower. Don't get me wrong, the valving in the Truechoice front shocks I'm on now is a couple of notches ahead.

That's not what someone higher up in the company told me some time ago (IIRC early 2004), I belive I spoke with the owner or some close to that. I was told that one kit was fabbed and because of how the rear spring sits in the suspension it made adjusting the rear height too difficult to adjust. Because of the cost to make a kit that would be easy to adjust would cost too much, they had zero desire to ever market a kit. Supporting that is the fact that I saw that one kit get sold on ebay awhile ago. If they have found a reason to make a kit that works, that's great,...but. Having a kit is good and bad. Good to those that know what shock to run at approproate ride height ranges. Bad because we get people that don't know what they are doing running them with oem shocks or improper running heights that want it explained why their car act's like it does and bad mouthing the product when it's not called for.

That happens with so many products; it's no reason to shy away from building it.

Build the kit please. I'll order a set.

the major problem was the adjuster and the owner of the Z back then didnt want to leave the car there for more than 2 hours to have it designed. there was never a prototype given to the owner i have seen the ones on e bay and they are not ours. but i have been looking at it for an inverted kit in the rear to solve that

Come on now, I know the difference between a generic and Ground-Control. Here's the text from the 350Z Ground-Control ad that was listed on ebay. I thought I had saved the pic's that were in the ad, I didn't. I would love for a kit to come out that use's Eibach ESS springs for the rear, I need something like that now.

"I am selling my Ground control suspension from my 2003 Nissan 350Z TRACK EDITION. It was designed by the owner of Ground Control and installed by himself. They never put the system in production (dont ask me why) so I am the only person in the world who has this. This has about 2000 miles and is in perfect condition. it is adjustable +/- 2 inches.

Ground Control is race proven suspension.

I messaged him on ebay when the ad was running asking what the spring rates were, based on the part numbers IMO the kit was ment to run with the Advanced Design shocks. Unfortunately, I didn't save the text from his second reply to me, So I don't have the exact spring rates, IIRC they were 600/500, whatever the rates were they were way too high for oem shocks.

No prototype? What about this car?

http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/te...ing/index.html

I offered to leave my car with you 2 years ago when I was searcing for a race setup buy you guys were not interested in the Z at the time. I think you had just got your hands on a new mustang for development.
Glad to see you are coming out with something now. Advanced Design shocks would be a great affordable race shock for the Z!

I e-mailed them twice about some Advanced Design coil-overs, and never had a response. I remember, and actually still have, the SCC article with the AD suspension on an early production Z. I was always surprised they never made any further developments on this model, as what they make for other Nissan models (namely my old B15 chassis) was very nice.
