Default not cutting rubber bumpstops w/ spring install?

monday i threw in my tanabe gf210 springs, cut down the rear "cone" piece on top of the springs like half an inch but in the process forgot to look into cutting any bumpstops, and in the front it seemed id lose the protective cover to the strut piston if i were to at all cut the stopper.
anyone install these springs and not have a problem?
im 99% sure im gonna have to go back in there and cut some off front and rear but wanna here if anyone hasnt of if nobody does and im crazy.

If more owners knew how little piston stroke was left after lowering on shocks, more would ask the same question you are. You'd have to run without the oem dustshields to be able to see the piston shaft or be more interested in why the ride end's up like it does.

03/04 car's do not have bump stops that can be trimmed and things aren't much different for 04.5+ owners where part of the suspension revision was a change in the rear dust shield, included is a soft foam insert in addition to the standard hard rubber core.

You can pull the oem dustshield/bump stops and install shorter Koni progressive soft bumpstops.

Here's a pic of the oem front dustsheild/bumpstop that I cut in half for viewing next to a Koni bumpstop that has had about 1/2" cut off.

Don't trim the bumpstop. You're allowing for the piston to travel further up (can lead to a blown strut much faster), and also increasing the chance of wear on the bumpstop by damaging its structural integrity. Mine ended up tearing on my Maxima. On top of that, the car bottomed out more frequently.

I cut some of the bumpstop and dust cover, and I have run into some unexpected large dips on the highway (f*cking construction) and no bottom outs. Running GF210s
