Default Please Help!! Rotora Bbk, Inconsistent Brake Feel

I was trying find if other people were having similar trouble, and I can't seem to find anything.

I have 6 piston Rotora BBK in front and 4 piston in the back. If I just drive normally in a straight line, the pedal feels pretty firm. But when I'm driving hard and take a sharp corner, all of a sudden brakes become super soft. I would have to put the brake pedal to the ground to stop.

I've bleed the brakes twice, but the problem doesn't seem to go away. I'm going to try it the 3rd time. I have almost brand new pads and steel lines. Does anyone else have same trouble?

Yes. I did break in the brakes correctly. I always thought that the brakes were a little inconsistent, but now it's definitely lot more noticeable.

Probably pad knockback. You can google it or look in the road race forum to find out about it. I have the same problem with my Stoptechs.

Default response from Rotora

I took my car to Rotora and they said by installing pins with springs on the hat of the rotor, the Pad Knockback would go away. I needed 40 pins and it was roughly $4 a piece.

They took a look at my rotors, and it's apparently the first generation rotors. They said they can only install those pins to the newer rotors. The price of 4 new rotors with those pins were over $1,600!!!! WTF. I just replaced my pads and they were over $600 (H6 Pads). And $1600 is a "hook up" price. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Next time when I buy a BBK, I better make sure what the replacement parts costs are. I'm really regretting not going with Stoptech.
