Finally Ready to Lower the Z
But I got a ton of questions............ I am trying really hard to keep everything under a grand.
Setup 1: My 1st set-up I might do is "Eibach Pro kit springs" and "Tokico D-Spec adjustable shocks" and a rear alignment kit for $800 (quoted from a vendor). Are these shocks/springs even good?
Setup 2: BC racing adjustable coils for $900 (quoted from a vendor). + I need a camber kit.
My question is, which setup would you go with (keep in mind I don't want the car slammed, so would I have any benefits getting the coils then).
Do I also need to buy a front camber kit, or is a rear camber all that is needed. I don't want to run into any tire feathering/alignment issues.

Coilovers for sure. I heard that Cusco was releasing a new set below the Zero-1 and Zero-2, called the GT. Pricing was supposed to be right around a grand but I haven't seen them yet.
What wheels/tires are you running now?

Well the reason I'm not leaning to hard towards coils is b/c if I get coils I'll be paying over a grand ......Reason= coils(+ factoring in a camber kit)= 1,000+
but why do all of you insist on coils

I'm sorry but if its a daily driver, whats the point of coilovers?
A nice set of springs and a nice set of dampeners will probably be the best choice for a street driven car. The only advantages I see to a coilover are:
1.) Adjustable height
2.) Corner-balancing
3.) Shortened shock travel
4.) Lighter weight
5.) Stiffer springs? If you want..?
Of those five, only 2 will be adjusted, and I bet you won't touch it after its adjusted. Also, adjusting it yourself will probably do more harm than good, and I'd leave it to the pros. The final 2, you won't even notice a difference in a 3400 lb car.
In other words, I don't understand why so many people suggest coilovers over springs/dampeners. The standard spring/dampener setup runs cheaper than a comparable coilover-setup.
The only time I'd suggest a coilover setup is if you are an avid track junky..
ninja edit: I have the tockiko shocks, but on retrospec, I wouldve chosen the yellow ones..forget the name..

listen... coilover are better that's that. It's just a fact. You don't have to go all out and if your not doing a big drop or anything you don't need camber. Gust go basic... you can get megan, stance, & tein bottom line coilovers for about 900 if you look around. it's not much of a drop but it's better than spending 700 on springs and struts. Even getting used coilovers is better than springs and struts. It just feels alot better.

if your going springs then go with tanabe...
coilovers you have so many options...i got tein comfort sports with edfc + spc front and rear camber kit all just sitting in my room waiting to be installed. waiting to get my hands on an arc strut bar and some cusco or tanabe sways so i can do everything together.
