I finished doing my lowering spring install in the front, but the lower part of the strut tower is not alighned with the control arms.
How can i turn the strut? do i need to recompress the spring and just yank on it? or should the strut tower be able to turn? Is it completely stationary?

Should be able to turn them...having said that, if everything was assembled correctly they should line up. Might recheck the alignment of the spring to perch, and top.

did you finesse it or do it properly?
Remove it from the car, rotate the top mount the proper direction/angle and reinstall. The popping is probably due to binding in the bushing and strut.

As you can see in the pictures, the lower connection point on the strut assembly would not be aligned with the control arm.
Fix:
I took the whole strut assembly off. Recompressed the spring on two sides about an inch.
I loosened the strut bolt at the top to the very top of the tread.
I marked the spring and the upper mount with a sharpie for reference.
I took a rubber mallet, and slammed the upper mount a few times in the direction i wanted it to turn.
Retightened everything, decompress the spring. Mount the spring assembly back.
That was the alignment problem.
The popping sound... No idea yet? I loosened and re tightened everything, and made sure everything was in place and it was. Im taking it to steeeze for him to check it later today.
