Default Do All BBK Squeek?

I guess the actual term might be squeel so to speak. I got the 4 Pot Rotora BBK kit for my Z and now it squeels when I'm coming to a stop light, or stop-n-go traffic. It gets annoying and I just blast the music cuz it gets irritating at times. I followed the Bed in procedure but that didn't seem to help. I get embarrased cuz you have this nice car and people look at you when you're coming to a stop lol.

Are all BBK's like this? I was reading that it has to do with the brake pad but what do other people do... just live with it?

Its down to the brake pads, some pads are just more prone to making noise than others. You can always change out to a different compound.

Thanks bro... Only if I could find what replacement pads work with Rotora's... seems like there's not that many. I read this on their catalog...

Brake Noise:
Due to the nature of race compounds, performance pads are more prone to brake noise and squeal. Proper Anti-Squeal shims plates between the caliper pistons and backing plate of the pad help reduce the problem. Anit-Squeal lubricant are also available to reduce noise and squeal.

So I guess I just gotta live with it.

I never knew they would make custom brake pads... I might just hit them up and see what it's all about.

Has anyone else installed aftermarket pads on their Rotora's? Can't seem to find a company that makes different brake pads for Rotora's. Well I have Carbotech now but I'm sure there's others that have tried other brake pads with Rotoras.

Not familiar with their bobcat line, but most carbotechs are supposed to be rather noisy.

I haven't had any noise out of mine on my Stoptech kit for about 8-10k miles. They are similar in performance to the Axxis ULT that you carry for the Rotora kit.

that seems to be the trade-off with aggresive pads, you want more bite then deal with more noise/dusting. I went with the Akebono kit simply because of the numerous pads on the market for it. Swap to an aggresive pad prior to track days, use a street pad the rest of the time.

I figured that much... there's always a trade-off. Oh well I'll just suck it up and deal with it.

I was gonna go with the Akebono set up but decided with the Rotora's since I got them for a fairly good price.

The sponsor that replied to you above "Works Concepts" seems to carry the Axxis Ultimate pad for Rotora BBK, which worked well for me and had little dust. Might want to give them a call and see if this pad is still made.

Another good reason to stick with Brembo , AP , Wilwood and Stoptech

Bobcats on Stoptech 332mm Front and stock caliper on the rear. I have XP-8's going on for the next track event, so I can't comment on them until June.

They have the same initial bite and brake dust characteristics that the Axxis Ultimate pads had until I did a track event and cooked them causing them to chunk and crack in half.

(I really pushed these past their limit, they were awesome street pads.)

I went with Carbotech because they say you don't have to resurface the rotor when going between street and track pads as long as both sets are their compound. And their customer service is top notch.
