Rotors machined + new pads installed = $240???
Hey guys,
I just wanted to get an opinion on whether or not I'm getting a good deal or not.
I was quoted $240 for getting my 06 Z front & back rotors machined. $240 also includes getting new break pads installed, BUT I am bringing the pads myself so they're charging me for installation only.
Does $240 sound like a fair deal? I just wanted to make sure. It seemed a bit high.
Also, I was quoted $210 for 60k maintenance service EXCLUDING transmission oil bleed and differential fluid. Does that sound ok?
Thanks guy in advance!!!

$240 looks like $80/hr for 3 hours. I can see it taking 3 hours to remove the rotors, machine them then re-install them. Since it all has to be removed anyway, I don't see why they can't do the pad swapout at a minimal charge.
Thanks for the reply guys! Yeah, I think I'm gonna ask tomorrow if they can cut down the price a bit. $240 seems a bit high, esp since I'm bringing my own pads!!!
What about the cost of 60k maintenance for $210, which EXCLUDES trans. oil bleed and diff fluid change? (i had them done at 45k)
Thanks much again guys!!!

Yup, with the good deals from vendors on here and prices they are offering you I would just opt for a new set of rotors+pads from a vendor. Maybe install them with a friend?
You are getting nailed for a brake job. It's caveman work, or pretty simple anyways if you have someone mechanically inclined it should only take couple hours. Then you get the joy of knowing you have new brakes
