Default Is this brake dust?

I've been noticing this on my wheels from time to time. Almost like soot, it wipes right off. I was thinking it may be clumped up brake dust falling from my rotors because the dust shieds were cut to fit the Brembos Just curious if it's any cause for alam.

FYI- I do not know what type of pads I have and they do not sqeal.

Yep, that there is brake dust. High performance pads typically dust more but all pads dust some.

Very good. I've never seen that before, it's not built up dust because I clean my wheels before I leave the house and find it when I get to work. Oh well.

Looks like simple dust to me. Dust is corrosive and will perminately stain wheels. A good coat of wax helps.

It looks like you need to give the inside of your wheels a good cleaning too.

I coated my calipers and wheels in Klasse before putting them on the last time, worked great on the calipers...the wheels, not so much. I'll give wax a try next time around.

No dust shields, as much as it bothers me I just have to deal with that because I'm not taking off my wheels every week
Ceramic brakes and waxing the barrels may help.

Dealt with brake dust for a while until I got Hawk performance HPS pads. Problem solved.

The new StopTech performance pads are a great alternative to those high dusting high performance pads. They have great performance bite, high MOT, and low dust and low noise when compared to other pads.

The MOT on these pads is high enough to take it out to a track day, and yet has performance at street operating temperatures.

Are you referring to your Street Performance Ceramic pads?
