Question on brake rotors.
I just went to a dealer and the guy says rotors need to be ground.
And with changing brake pads they costs like 302 bucks(I mean just for rear brake parts fronts are excluded).
Those guys are charging too much I guess.. How do you guys think
should i pay for those *****? or do it myself?
I was thinking to get aftermarket rotors like z1 or stillen one. Is it ok to change a rotor by a beginners like me? my budget can handle within 400~500 bucks.

It should cost $20 (if that) to get the rotors resurfaced then another $50 for rear pads. They're charging quite a bit for the remove/install price.
If you can do this puzzle:
You can install new rear rotors/brake pads yourself for $350 or less or remove the rotors yourself, get them resurfaced by a place like NAPA and reinstall with new pads for $70-$80.

And most of the times you don't need to resurface your rotor.

For the last year the dealership has been stating on my inspection sheet (they give with the oil change) that I need new brakes and this last visit they suggested re-surfacing. They're just now getting down to 1 mm on the front, rear is still at 2 mm and I plan to replace em myself in the next few weeks and will not be re-surfacing them, they're fine IMHO.
From my experience you only need to re-surface your rotors if you have an uneven surface or grooves in them and that's only happen to me when I've wore the pads down to the rivets or got something caught in them that caused a grove.
I also wanted to mention a thing about pad and rotors, you should find a match hardness otherwise one will eat away at the other faster.

^^ +1 to what he said. Brake job is pretty easy. Replace the pads and take a look at the rotors. You can take the rotors off and take them to any autoparts store to get them resurfaced if you want. Or they may not even need to be resurfaced... You could straight up replace the rotors for less than the dealership wants.
