What are the stock (non-Brembo) brake pads made of? I'm preparing a speech for my engineering materials class and I want to talk about the advantages of using ceramic brake pads. I kind of procrastinated on this (d'oh) and now I guess I'm just looking for a quick answer on what our stock 350z brake pads are made of so I can make a quick comparison.

I still can't believe I've resorted to creating a thread for a quick answer since I'm in such a rush to finish this up. hahaha

 

UH, they are made of SH^& and they produce a lot of brake dust.

What you can do, is a comparison test of the OEM brake pad and aftermarket ones, and there's your speech.

The topic would be brake dust or no brake dust!
