Default Looking to reduce wheel hop...

I have 2003 Touring 6MT (non-brembo)| JWT Clutch/Flywheel/Popcharger |CF Air Duct |RDX Antenna |Pioneer Headunit w/ Pocket | 20% Carbon Tint.

I drive aggressive on the street and since installing clutch/flywheel have increased ground tq/hp and experincing increased wheel hop on semi-hard accel. Differential?

Suspsension currently has 80k on it.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

more than likely your rear differential bushing is shot greatly contributing to wheel hop. almost every Z blows theirs at some point if driven hard. mine was shot, replaced it with a solid bushing and now wheels hop is pretty much gone.

That was my other thought. But I haven't checked to see the commonality of that for the 03.

Thanks b/c I really feel like my suspension still has some life in it.

Any suggestions on what diff to get or where from?

like mentioned, first and foremost you need solid diff bushings, not a new diff.....

Start by reading here:
https://my350z.com/forum/8293651-post24.html

Next of course would be to get a limited slip differential added to your diff pumpkin/carrier...your 2003 touring, based on age alone would be a shot vlsd unit in that rear diff pumpkin....the fluid in the stock vlsd unit is old and cooked and most likely lost its viscosity to enable any sort of limited slip capabilities...

look for an aftermarket lsd to install, os giken, quaife, etc..

After doing some research I better understand the stock LSD.

However, I'm curious....
Since the fluid breaks down over time, how much will replacing the fluid help or is it too late? Nobody has suggested this...

I have decided to install solid diff bushings in two weeks. Hope this eliminates my hop!

You can't change the fluid in the Vlsd. Its a sealed unit. Its not the diff fluid your Thinking of. Also I can garuntee after 80k hard driven miles your suspension doesn't have any life left.

Ha I figured as much. Being able to change the fluid would be too convenient.

I plan to change suspension as well. Just haven't looked into it much. If u have any suggestions let me know. I want slightly stiffer than stock but not coilovers.
