Default Stanced Guys

I have a some what quick question for those Stanced people, as in their 350z dropped very close to the floor. Are you guys having a problem with the exhaust flange between the y pipe and mid pipe scraping over bumps? or the flanges between the y-pipe and cats. My side skirt clears and all but this flange is making me slow down even more going over bumps. In fact, i can go lower if the stupid flange wasn't there.
I thought about v-band, however, v-bands don't sit not much higher than the stock flange.

When i was at stock height, tucked tires looked beautiful. Now that i tuck little bit of tires, i want to tuck the rims ! i know that won't happen though...especially on 18" rims. 20" are too heavy and tires are expensive lol

-Lowered car haters don't bother to post-

I think you just have to deal with scraping...after I lowered my car it seems like I cant get over any speed bumps without scraping. I have a greddy ti-c and the resonator on the midpipe is the lowest point on my car (probably like 2 inches off the ground)

midpipe flange is the lowest point, next would be either the flanges between y-pipe and cats, or the resonator that i welded on mid pipe. Too bad that my resonator hangs little lower than the chassis brace
i can deal with the scrape (not much though) but when you get STUCK behind the speed bumps or steep drive way, that's when it gets annoying. That little flange keeps me from going over

Yea man, if you really want to be "stanced" than you shouldn't be able to make it over any speedbumps at all. My car is lowered not that much at all and I wouldn't want to take it over any speedbumps to be honest. Just don't go over any speedbumps, especially the short yellow ones.

atx350 has some costum oval piping at the lowest points of his exhaust to avoid your actual problem, might be costly if you go that route but maybe if you did that? i dont know if he has all peice welded together or if he has v bands at either end, having it all welded together would sure be nice until you need to take the exhaust off lol,pm him maybe he can help you out

Would it be a bad idea to just cut down the bottom part of the flange leaving some length from the pipe.
i had many times where i try to go up a drive way, and i see myself 3 wheeling..going no where lol

With the 3.5 inch ride height rule for Redline, the Flex joints on the Y pipe were always the biggest problem on the Z, even when running the factory Y pipe.

Yes, I had problems with flanges.

The solution? Oval piping:

simply cutting off the flanges and weld them together?
hmmm can't really use this method since I'm not 100% set this my current exhaust set up
EDIT: the messed up flanges look like a vag that went too far lol

It's still at the shop so all I have for now is iphone pics. I'll be posting a thread of the work that was done by UpRev to show case the new exhaust and wastegate relocation once it's done.
