Default Best value and performance for bbk

I am currently looking for a big brake kit and have narrowed it down to Stoptech, 370Z brakes, and OEM Brembo brakes. I just want some feedback from people that own these and which is the best value, but still has good performance.

Curious why you didn't include Wilwood?

I don't think we have ever talked about these specific brakes before. Are they new on the market?

Im getting them mostly for performance, but also for show. I just wanna know whats the best out of all three of these for what I want them for. I dont have to have the best performance, but good enough to take out on a track. Also which calipers are the biggest and smallest?

If you're budget conscious..like me...you can get Stoptech kit for FRONTS only. Kit is designed to work with stock REAR set up. They are the ONLY brand that have done this. I can tell you, it works very well and I have a source that shipped the kit (13") for $1430. Unlike the others you mentioned, these are TRUE two piece FLOATING rotors. Willwoods are not true floating design.

I did consider the stopteck kit, but I want front and rear calipers. I guess what im asking is , should I get the OEM brembos or an aftermarket bbk instead?

You can get Brembo set up if you're patient in finding someone selling em.
I guess you want the look of front and rear then. I wouldn't get Akebono set up (370 sport) due to weight consideratons. If it's just the look you want, you can get that set up pretty cheap and it does look very nice (14" front/rear). There are very good aftermarket kits..but you're talking $3000 up.

if you're on a budget get the 06+ non-brembo system like i did. the front rotor diameter is 320mm vs 2003 296mm. brembo is 324mm which is not that big of a difference. the feel is gd and they dont fade like the 03s did during sprited driving. also the 06+ front calipers are dual piston as opposed to single piston 03s.

That would have been my first choice hands down, but it looks like this guy wants the *look*.

Akebonos if looks superseed performance. Pair them with some StopTech slotted/drilled and you would love them. However those things are heavy. And depending on your wheels and offsets, you might have clearance issues. I only drive my car about 10-20 miles a week for pleasure so I had no difficulty making the Akebono choice. Again it depends on your main goals. SOME guys would jump in and thrash Akebonos just because they are OEM. Others would state the facts as they are.

Well the problem with the 06+ system is there are very few track pads availble. I know Hawk does not go past HPS for them in the front. So if track(which OP stated) time is going to be part of the equation then I say OEM Brembo's all the way. You will have a ton of pad and rotor options from one end of performace and price spectrum. Also I can walk into my local autozone and walk out with pads, rotors, and hardware kit so if you were ever in a bind, spares are easily had.
Now if you are just wanting a brake upgrade just because you want something(nothing wrong with that its your money) buy what you want and can afford. I have a 06 and I did the OEM Brembo swap. Picked up a set on Ebay, rebuilt them, painted them the color I wanted and have been quite happy with them. Every car in the new NASA Spec Z class will be running them so they are track worthy, lots of options, and if you are patient you can pick up a set for a good price on ebay, here,or salvage yard.

Find a used set of OEM Brembo's. This is the best option for you. Just upgrade to stainless lines and better brake fluid if you're planning to do some Autocross / light track sessions.
