need help immediately!!! scary!
Ya guys so idk what the hell happened. But these two bolts are gone! The ones that hold the caliper to the bracket. I need to get two new ones. Anybody know the size or if Nissan would just have them?? I'm scared driving around like this!
I bought my Nissan from 6 hours away and it was missing both caliper bolts! I drove like that the whole way home not knowing what it was until I looked over the car. It just ended up scratching the inside of the rim.

WTF, did you yell at them when you found out. I would be pissed and make them pay for the damage and repairs.
You can get them at the dealership. I replaced one while changing my pads once and had no problem getting a hold of one. Shouldn't be that difficult unless the bolt was snapped. Getting the remaining piece of the bolt may be tricky.
You're also missing a rubber piece there also.
As for driving, definitely not. Removing that bolt is how you swing your caliper open to remove the pads. Dirt, rust, and brake dust might be keeping everything in place now. If it lifts while driving, the piston isn't going to make proper contact with the pads and you're going to have no brakes.

people that inspect used cars before they buy them, show up with tools, jacks, jackstands, etc...

The girlfriend was very excited, "OMG, I love this car!" Seller was loving it. I plugged my scan tool in to the OBDII port and pulled about 8 codes. I checked under the hood; bad main seal, coolant leak, oil was milky. Also, the front brake pads were almost done and there were deep grooves in both the front rotors. I called my friend over and he asked, "what's the verdict?" I told him that not only was this car unsafe, it more than likely needed a new engine and new brakes and that was just from a preliminary look. I needed more time to see if there was rust or evidence of accident damage to the unibody. The only good news was that I wasn't pulling any transmission PIDs on the scanner.
The seller was pissed (to say the least) and called me a liar. I walked back to the dash and peeled the electrical tape off and the CEL was lit. I asked him to explain the need for the tape then. He slammed the hood shut, got in the car and took off. I got a nice steak dinner out of that.
Never buy a used car without getting a full inspection and if you're going to scan the ECU, use a GOOD scan tool, not a POS Innova that you can't read manufacturer-specific PIDs with.
I've never seen a car missing caliper bolts though. If others hadn't posted that they've experienced the same thing, I'd be a bit more amazed. With used cars, anything's possible, I suppose.
